You matter and you<br \/>\ndeserve help and support to find your way through your life&#8217;s<br \/>\nchallenges. If you can allow yourself to reach out, there are many<br \/>\nresources of support available to you, or to offer to someone you sense<br \/>\nmay be in need of help.<\/p>\n<p>If you (or someone you know) are feeling depressed, hopeless or in<br \/>\ndespair, please reach out to one or more of these resources:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reach out to a friend who is a good listener. <\/li>\n<li>\nContact a local minister or rabbi and ask for their help. <\/li>\n<li>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.metanoia.org\/suicide\/samaritans.htm\">The Samaritans <\/a>have created an incredible support system for people in despair called<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.befrienders.org\/index.asp\">&#8220;the befrienders.&#8221;<\/a> They can be<br \/>\nreached 24 hours a day for compassionate, non-judgemental emotional<br \/>\nsupport. You can speak confidentially with a volunteer on the phone, or<br \/>\ne-mail them. <\/li>\n<li>\nYou can also talk to a therapist online at <a href=\"http:\/\/psychcentral.com%3e.\/\">Psych Central.<\/a> <\/li>\n<li>\nThere is an online depression support group called &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.walkers.org\/\">Walkers in Darkness<\/a>&#8221;&nbsp; where you can connect with others who can offer<br \/>\nsupport. <\/li>\n<li>\nIf you are having suicidal thoughts or feelings, please call 1-800-SUICIDE.<\/li>\n<li>If you are a teenager in need of help, call <a href=\"http:\/\/www.covenanthouse.org\/\">Covenant House<\/a> at 1-800-999-9999. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As a community here on Beliefnet, I&#8217;d like to ask those of you who feel<br \/>\nmoved to help others during this financial crisis to form a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/search\/site.aspx?q=prayer+circle\">Prayer Circle. <\/a>Together, we can pray for those in financial despair to receive personal and financial help and support they greatly need and deserve.<\/p>\n<p>Please say this prayer for them today:<\/p>\n<p>For I arise today<br \/>\n<br \/>Through a mighty strength:<br \/>\n<br \/>\nGod&#8217;s power to guide me,<br \/>\n<br \/>God&#8217;s might to uphold me,<br \/>\n<br \/>God&#8217;s eyes to watch over me;<br \/>\n<br \/>God&#8217;s ear to hear me,<br \/>\n<br \/>God&#8217;s word to give me speech,<br \/>\n<br \/>God&#8217;s hand to guard me,<br \/>\n<br \/>God&#8217;s way to lie before me,<br \/>\n<br \/>God&#8217;s shield to shelter me,<br \/>\n<br \/>God&#8217;s host to secure me.<br \/>\n<br \/><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;font-family: 'Musnad Sabaic'\"><\/span><br \/>~ Celtic Prayer <\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Occasionally, I receive comments from our readers who are in financial crisis that indicate feelings of hopelessness and despair.
