When it comes to money, almost everyone has a story lately. Unfortunately,
\nmany of the stories I’m hearing these days are filled with hard times, bad luck, loss, sadness, anger and resentment. Don’t get me wrong, I know that these
\nstories are real and that there is pain and hardship associated with them….which I have deep compassion for. <\/p>\n

But I’m a Money Coach and I
\nknow all too well the dangers of becoming trapped in your story and the
\npotentially disabling effect that it can have on your life.
\nI know that many of you have been deeply impacted by this financial crisis and recession, but I want you to
\nknow that your financial circumstances are not who you are, so please…don’t become identified with them personally.<\/p>\n

It is essential that you process your story (i.e. what happened to you) quickly
\nso that you can move it outside of your being before it has a chance to take permanent
\nresidence. You must find a way to forgive and release
\nwhat has happened, whether it was the loss of your home, your job, or
\nyour investments. Let it be done so that you can be free to move forward into the future and to creating
\nthe life you do want.<\/p>\n

When we fail to release the past, we simply carry it with us everywhere. Over time, we can begin to identify with our story and the past so closely that we miss the present and the  future simply becomes a repeat performance of yesterday. This is called an “unconscious
\nself-fulfilling prophecy” and it is impossible to win at life when we are trapped
\ninside this viscious cycle. The next phase of your life is actually waiting for you now. But you are only  free to claim it when you willing to release the past.<\/p>\n

People ask me all the time to share my story with them and I always
\nrespond the same way. I tell them my story is no longer real or interesting to
\nme…it’s merely a fictional tale that I entertain myself and others
\nwith occasionally. However, if you ask me to share with you something
\nabout my life today and my vision for the future…now that’s a story I’m excited to share.<\/p>\n

What happened to you is real but it isn’t who you are unless you let it
\nbe by not letting it go. Resist the temptation to becoming a Victim in
\nthe Tragedy of your story. Instead, I challenge you to become Victorious
\nas the Hero or Heroine in your own Divine Drama (or Comedy, if you choose!) You can do it…begin by writing a new chapter today!<\/p>\n

For all those in need of a prayer in our Financial Prayer Circle, <\/a>here’s a special Prayer for Releasing the Past:<\/p>\n

Dear God,
\n
I come to you today and ask that you help me to release all negative
\nthoughts, feelings
and associations that I may be holding in connection with my personal and financial circumstances. Help me to release and
\nforgive myself and any others who may have contributed to my circumstances.
Help me to release my attachment to my story of what happened so that I
\nmay be free to become what you would have me be. I surrender this work to you God, and know that as I release the past, I am creating the space to
\nmore fully embrace today and step forward into the rich potential of
\ntomorrow.
\n
I have learned from the past what I needed and now I set it free. I
\nsurrender my pain and suffering to you God and claim my future in faith
\nand trust that better days and my greatest good are unfolding. I am grateful and humbled by my experience and hereby release it
\nyou. I consider it done and so it is. Amen.<\/p>\n
