I was really moved and impressed by a
\nrecent CNN report about 24-year-old Brianna Karp who was homeless and
\nliving in an RV following the loss of her job, which inevitably led her
\nto run out of money. The RV was an unexpected gift from her barely
\nknown grandfather who had also recently committed suicide.<\/p>\n

While living in a WalMart parking lot, Brianna decided to begin a blog
\nof her own, called The Girls Guide to Homelessness, which she wrote
\nwhile sitting for hours in coffee shops with free wireless.<\/p>\n

Brianna may have been down on her luck, but she was not going down
\nwithout a fight for herself or for others in similar circumstances. She
\ndecided to use her story to help make others aware of homelessness in
\nAmerica. One thing led to another and the next thing she knew she was
\nbeing interviewed by CNN and suddenly things began to shift…rather
\nmiraculously.<\/p>\n

First, she met a man who was once homeless himself who was writing about homelessness in Scotland. he is now her boyfriend.<\/p>\n

Next, she wrote a letter to an Editor at Elle Magazine about her
\ncircumstances, and the editor was so taken with her that she gave her
\nan internship as a fashion blogger at Elle.com.<\/p>\n

And then, CNN showed up and aired a show about her which launched many
\nother opportunities including a trip to New York to be on the Today
\nShow.<\/p>\n

I think what is remarkable about Brianna is that she never let her
\ncircumstances keep her from trying to live her dreams or her life. She
\nused her pain and difficulties to bring light to the plight of others
\nand in doing so, manifested some pretty positive outcomes.<\/p>\n

Brianna is a testament to what is possible when we just keep showing up
\nwith our best, with faith, hope and heart. She is now a role model and
\nheroine to many who are struggling with financial difficulties,
\nunemployment and homelessness.<\/p>\n

As of her latest blog, Brianna’s spirit and determination manifested
\nher a full-time job as an Executive Assistant, which is just what she
\nwas hoping for.<\/p>\n

“If you saw me walking down the street, you wouldn’t assume I live in a
\nparking lot,” she writes on the blog. “In short, I am just like you,
\nexcept without the convenience of a permanent address.”<\/p>\n
