If you don&#8217;t do<br \/>\nyoga and never plan to, you might still like to learn some methods for calming<br \/>\nyour mind, or organizing your closet or getting the kinks out of your<br \/>\nshoulders.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>In fact, the word yoga<br \/>\nactually just means union.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>So we<br \/>\ncan think of it as a way to be more integrated.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>The word Buddha means awakened and when I think of that it<br \/>\nreminds me to come out of my brain fog, stop looking at my iphone and instead<br \/>\nlook around me, and in general, become a fuller participant in my own life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:16.0pt\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:16.0pt\">One of the reasons that so<br \/>\nmany people like practicing yoga postures is that it is a great way to feel<br \/>\nconnected to your own life.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>It is<br \/>\na completely hands-on activity.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>If<br \/>\nyou&#8217;re anything like me, you probably spend a lot of time in your head and on<br \/>\nyour computer.<span>\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>And although<br \/>\nthat is fine and fun and pretty much a prerequisite for being functional in<br \/>\ntoday&#8217;s world, it lacks a sense of &#8220;felt&#8221; connection to the world<br \/>\nwhich yoga returns to us when we place our hands right on the floor, deepen our<br \/>\nbreathing and get sweaty.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>But even<br \/>\nif you don&#8217;t do yoga, you can still reclaim an earthy, involved experience of<br \/>\nyour own life in many ways and this blog will give you lots of ideas for doing<br \/>\nthat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:16.0pt\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:16.0pt\">I will also give you some<br \/>\nexercises to cultivate alertness as well as spaciousness to balance out our<br \/>\nnormal daily busyness.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>This blog<br \/>\nwill offer tips on how to relax and de-stress as well as re-energize through<br \/>\nbreathing, stretching and every day meditations.<span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:16.0pt\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:16.0pt\">But yoga and meditation are<br \/>\nnot goals.<span>\u00a0 <\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span>It doesn&#8217;t ever matter if you get<br \/>\n&#8220;good&#8221; at them or not.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>They<br \/>\nare just really good methods <span>\u00a0<\/span>or<br \/>\nways of approaching life.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>So, with<br \/>\nthe tools I&#8217;ve learned from decades of practice, I&#8217;m going to offer you ideas<br \/>\nfor finding harmony, confidence, connection and peace in your day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:16.0pt\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:16.0pt\">Tune in tomorrow for<br \/>\ndetails!<span>\u00a0 <\/span>In the meantime, keep<br \/>\nbreathing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:16.0pt\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--EndFragment--><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 Welcome to my new blog, Yoga Body Buddha Mind!\u00a0\u00a0 Yoga and Body and Buddha and Mind are all words that encompass a lot.
