Case in point? &#8220;A Thoughtless Soul,&#8221; which concludes thus:<\/p>\n<p>Yet masking truth and hiding pain,<br \/>\nWill surely take it\u2019s toll,<br \/>\nWill he unto others, or to himself,<br \/>\nRemain a thoughtless soul?<\/p>\n<p>Although the apostrophe in line two is his, not mine, the thoughts could easily have been ripped right out of my bleary-faced skull on just any given Sunday since we started this writing project.<\/p>\n<p>But enough about our blog. Let&#8217;s talk about what people are saying about our blog!<\/p>\n<p>Erin, whose online journal, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.erinword.com\/2011\/02\/year-of-sundays.html\">Mapless: Trying Not to Stomp the Flowers<\/a>, chronicles her own journey of faith, writes that although our church visits will take place mainly in Portland, \u201cI don&#8217;t think their thoughts and experiences are entirely irrelevant to people outside of our metro area.\u00a0It could be an interesting study in what church and religious services are like to the outsider.\u201d Absolutely! If we&#8217;ve done our job, the universal nature of human spiritual experience will shine through bright and clear as a beaker of vodka. Also, we have plans to visit churches in other areas as well, time and budget permitting.<\/p>\n<p>The weekend update at <a href=\"http:\/\/faithandfood.morizot.net\/2011\/02\/19\/weekend-update-02-19-2011\/\">Faith and Food<\/a> says, \u201cThe articles so far have been insightful and entertaining. They aren\u2019t Christian and they aren\u2019t merely attending Christian groups. If either of those facts bother you, consider yourself duly warned.\u201d Dum Dum Daaaaa!<\/p>\n<p>Regarding my post about <a href=\"http:\/\/yearofsundays.com\/2011\/01\/16\/lets-put-the-universalist-back-in-unitarian-shall-we\/\">our visit to the Unitarian Universalist church<\/a>, Dale, over at <a href=\"http:\/\/danceswithanxiety.blogspot.com\/2011\/02\/so-many-sundays.html\">Faith in Honest Doubt<\/a>, says, \u201cthey had me at <em>Voltaire<\/em> shortly after already having me at<em> tautological,<\/em> and those were embellishments of the having-of-me in the very premise of the blog. Namely, the co-authoring couple will visit Portland-area churches over the next year and write up their findings. The idea was to make a big list and tell a whole buttload of people about what we&#8217;re doing, but I&#8217;d poured myself an exceptionally long pull of Irish Whiskey and soda, and, well, the project is what it is.
