Ginny Owens set to release first full-length studio album in five years<\/strong>
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

It’s been five years since Ginny Owens last released a full-length studio album. That drought will come to an end tomorrow with the release of the tongue-in-cheek titled Get In, Im Driving<\/em>. The new collection of songs contains bits and pieces of Owens’ vast influences that include soul, RNB, blues, jazz and pop.<\/p>\n

Written originally with an independent release in mind, Owens’ says that she’s thankful she was ultimately able to collaborate with a small, like-minded label (Soul Stride Records) that was unconcerned about producing radio hits and more interested in creative integrity.<\/p>\n

“It doesn’t feel like its been five years. It feels like its been really busy,” Owens told Whole Notes. “But having a record take two years to complete is too long so I’m just excited that we’re at this point. It feels like it’s time to dive back in.”<\/p>\n
