{"id":75,"date":"2017-02-03T14:56:59","date_gmt":"2017-02-03T14:56:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/wewaitheworks\/?p=75"},"modified":"2017-02-03T14:58:42","modified_gmt":"2017-02-03T14:58:42","slug":"witnessing-for-his-kingdom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/wewaitheworks\/2017\/02\/witnessing-for-his-kingdom.html","title":{"rendered":"Witnessing For His Kingdom"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><\/div>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-65\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/405\/2017\/01\/20170107_164420-1-300x219.jpg\" alt=\"20170107_164420\" width=\"300\" height=\"219\" \/><\/div>\n<div>Being God\u2019s witness and bringing people to Christ is one of the most rewarding and challenging things anyone can ever do. Bringing people to Christ can be a challenge because not everyone will accept Him as their savior and their Lord. Some people may not believe the story of Jesus coming to Earth after a virgin birth, then preaching until He was 33, gathering 12 disciples and then dying on the cross for everyone\u2019s sins.<\/div>\n<div>Some people will ultimately think that the entire story of Jesus, His life and ministry is a fake, untrue and even too extreme to be true.\u00a0 Some may even believe that His birth wasn\u2019t even miraculous. Those people who don\u2019t believe in Jesus are the ones we need to reach out to the most.<\/div>\n<div>Even though it\u2019s important to continue to reach out to the believers, it is even more important that the\u00a0unbelievers come to Christ. The fact that we can be witnesses to and for His story, to His glory and the ultimate gift of salvation that He gives, is a privilege we shouldn\u2019t take for granted.<\/div>\n<div>People need to hear about Jesus in His word, through going to church and through Bible studies as well as through every day discussions.\u00a0 When someone asks how you are, you can respond with \u201cI\u2019m blessed.\u201d Maybe that will open the door to them asking you why you say you feel like you\u2019re blessed. Then it opens the door for you to tell them about how God has changed your life for the best and discuss how to gain His salvation.<\/div>\n<div>We can bring people to recognize Christ in us and in our lives through our words and through our actions. Maybe someone will see the kindness you bestow on others and in turn, return that favor to someone else. It can be as simple as holding a door for someone, opening a car door for someone, helping an elderly person or making dinner for one of your colleagues that is going through a death in the family. It can also be as simple as comforting a friend or a loved one after a stressful day on the job or at school. All of those actions show Gods love.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0Some people may have asked you, \u201chow do you have that peace in your heart?\u201d Or, \u201cwhat can I do to gain the peace that you have? You always seem to be happy, why is that? What do you have that I don\u2019t have?\u201d Some of my favorite questions are: \u201cwhat do I do about peace? I\u2019ve prayed for peace and I never get it. I need that peace. How do I get the peace you have?\u201d I explain that,\u00a0God gives me the peace that I have, as well as the passion in my heart for my work and in my life. It is because of God, I am who I am today. He makes me who I am and continues to shape me into the person He wants me to be.<br \/>\nEven if people don\u2019t believe what I\u2019m saying about Him, all I can do is try to teach them the one true way and how to ask for the salvation that God freely gives. Mathew 10:14, says,14 \u201cIf anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.\u201d This verse says that all believers can do is try and share the good news with those who are suffering and those who don\u2019t believe. If people don\u2019t accept His message through the words He gives you, you can still pick yourself up, knowing that you did all you could. You can walk away with your heart full and your head held high. Don\u2019t beat yourself up if someone doesn\u2019t come to Christ through you. You will know full well in your heart that you did all you could for His Kingdom with that particular person.<\/div>\n<div>You can find the joy of teaching someone else about God too. All the people we talk to have to do is, ask God to come into their lives with all their heart, ask Him to forgive their sins and accept His forgiveness with their full heart. Some of the Bible verses that you can use in your discussions include: John 14:6. John 14:6\u00a0says,\u00a06 &#8220;Jesus answered, \u201cI am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Another verses to share with people is: John 3:16. it says\u00a0says,\u00a016 &#8220;For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.\u201d This verse can be used to help people understand what Jesus did for them and that He wants a relationship with them, and that He wants to have a place prepared for them in Heaven. You can also explain to them that God wants everyone to come to Him so that they can be saved and have an eternal place in Heaven, one day when He returns.<\/div>\n<div>Romans 10:9 says, \u201cIf you declare with your mouth, \u201cJesus is Lord,\u201d and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.\u201d<br \/>\nAnother verse about witnessing for Him is, Ephesians 6:19: \u201c19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.\u201d This verse can be used to help others witness and through prayer for other believers.<\/div>\n<div>Witnessing and bringing people to Christ is one of the most challenging yet rewarding aspects of life. It is challenging because Satan is always prowling around like a Lion to devour us with his lies and schemes. He wants us to give up on bringing people to Christ.\u00a0 He can easily tell a believer that is it\u2019s not worth pursuing God\u2019s love or to help bring people to know Christ. He will tell people that they can make it on their own without God.\u00a0Satan also spreads the fear that telling people about God will make people hate you and it will make you\u00a0lose friends.\u00a0 Even though telling others the good news may cause you to loose friends, it can also save people\u2019s lives.\u00a0 As Christians we learn not to believe Satan\u2019s lies and trust in God\u2019s almighty power.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0On the other hand, knowing and bringing people to Christ can be one of the most rewarding aspects in life, because He gives people the peace in life that we know only can come from Him. Philippians 4:7 says, \u201cAnd the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.\u201d Never give up on bringing people to Christ.
