Whether it is times of losing faith or financial difficulties or anything that makes you question how you will make it through a situation. The good news is that we can always turn to God for guidance and answers. We can also turn to Him for peace and hope and reassurance. These are just some of the favorite that came up when I asked people for their go-to verses.

1 Peter 1:3-6 says, 3 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy, he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 4 And into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you. 5 Who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In all this, you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.”

We can rejoice even in the midst of sorrow and pain. We can praise His name and thank Him for all the good that He has brought to our lives and thank Him for blessing us with His unfailing love and His never-ending grace and mercy. He gives you new hope every morning because He sent His son to die on the cross for us and to die in our place. No matter the burdens we might face, we can rejoice in knowing that we are saved by Jesus and his ultimate sacrifice. We know that we have the reward of heaven waiting for us. Praise be to Him for making all thing’s new.

Job 6:8 says: “Oh, that I might have my request, that God would grant what I hope for.” We can always bring our requests to God with hope in our hearts that He hears us and wants to grant our requests. It is all in His timing though too. And in His way. When he knows something is going to better your life he will grant you your request. But if He knows the things you’re praying for will not benefit your life, He will either say no or say not right now. His timing for things is always better than ours. We just must keep believing that He will take care of us in ways that only He can.

Psalm 91: “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High, will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Whenever we walk with God, He will show us the glories of His majesty and we know we can trust Him more than anyone else in this life.

Psalm 23: The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” No matter what we go through we can always turn to God for comfort.

James 1:19 says, “My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.” Everyone should be slow to get angry and slow to speak. We can all learn a thing or two to just shut up and listen to one another instead of talking all the time.

Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through him who gives me strength.” This verse basically speaks for itself. We just need to be reminded daily that we can do all things only through Him. We may not always feel as though we can accomplish things, but this verse is a great reminder to us that we have the power to do anything we set our minds to. We have the power of God within us.

Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” This verse reminds us to turn our anxiety into prayer. He will always answer your prayers even if it isn’t in the way you want Him to. He knows what is best for you and all of us. He knows more than any of us can ever imagine. When the peace fills your heart that is when you know its from Him. When you can’t explain the peace you feel, that is when you know it’s from God.

Psalm 37:4 says, “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Listen to your heart and listen to God first and foremost.

Stay tuned for more favorite Bible verses.
