As the holiday season is wrapping up, we all long for peace within our families and within our lives in general. I wanted to share another song with you that has held a special place in my heart by Casting Crowns. It is called \u201cPeace on Earth.\u201d Jesus is the ultimate giver of the peace that we long for in our hearts, souls and our minds. If we only believe in Him, and trust in Him, we will end up finding the ultimate peace that surpasses human understanding. That is when we know it\u2019s from God, when we feel peace in our lives no matter what we may be going through. If you are searching for peace, I encourage you to look towards Jesus today.<br \/>\nFirst verse: \u201cI heard the bells on Christmas day. Their old familiar carols play. And mild and sweet their songs repeat. Of peace on earth good will to men. And the bells are ringing (peace on earth). Like a choir they&#8217;re singing (peace on earth). In my heart I hear them (peace on earth). Peace on earth, good will to men.<br \/>\n2nd verse: \u201cAnd in despair I bowed my head. There is no peace on earth I said. For hate is strong and mocks the song. Of peace on earth, good will to men. Chorus:\u00a0 But the bells are ringing (peace on earth). Like a choir singing (peace on earth). Does anybody hear them? (peace on earth). Peace on earth, good will to men.\u00a0 Then rang the bells more loud and deep. God is not dead, nor does he sleep (peace on earth, peace on earth). The wrong shall fail, the right prevail. With peace on earth, good will to men.\u201d<br \/>\nMany times, throughout the Christmas season we don\u2019t find peace. We forget to turn to the One who can give us peace. We get so used to hearing the same old Christmas songs and hearing the choirs singing about the way God has come to us to save us from our sins. He gave us Emmanuel, the prince of peace. But how often do we actually stop and listen to the words of the songs such as Mary Did You Know?\u201d Or \u201cSilent Night\u201d, or especially, \u201cOh Come, Oh Come, Emmanuel\u201d? How often do we let the words sink into our hearts and resonate with us? Do we hear what God is trying to tell us? Do we hear what He is saying to us? Do we actually hear the songs and know what they mean and how they can help lift our mood during the holiday season? When was the last time you went to a choir concert and were in awe of the words of any Christmas song about Jesus? Did you ever stop to think that God has created all of these awesome songs so that we turn back towards Him especially during the time of His son Jesus\u2019 birth and turn back to realizing what Christmas is all about? It was never meant to cause stress in our lives by buying gifts for everyone on our lists. It was meant to be a time of pure joy and bliss of remembering how Jesus came to save us all and to enjoy celebrating that good news with the ones we love.<br \/>\n3rd verse: \u201cThen ringing singing on its way.\u00a0 The world revolved from night to day. A voice, a chime, a chant sublime. Of peace on earth, good will to men. And the bells they&#8217;re ringing (peace on earth). Like a choir they&#8217;re singing (peace on earth). And with our hearts we&#8217;ll hear them (peace on earth). Peace on earth, good will to men. Chorus: Do you hear the bells they&#8217;re ringing? (peace on earth). The life the angels singing (peace on earth). Open up your heart and hear them (peace on earth). Peace on earth, good will to men. Peace on earth, peace on earth. Peace on earth, Good will to men. \u201c<br \/>\nThe world truly does revolve from night to day. We go about our every day lives and forget to remember Jesus and thank Him for all He has done for us. Then we wonder why we don\u2019t have peace in our lives and we begin to search for it through other means such as venting, drugs, alcohol and other horrid things. We soon realize that absolutely nothing can ever feel that void of God\u2019s true peace. Only when we hit rock bottom, we realize that we have to turn back to Him for any kind of peace and tranquility in our lives. Go back to the other statement of listening to a choir sing. When you hear them sing, don\u2019t you normally feel a sense of calm come over you? That could be God giving you a sense of peace in many different ways. You can often find peace in any situation. All you have to do is ask God to open up your eyes and your heart and help you find them. Once you find peace in the little things of life such as a choir singing at Christmas time, that time of the year won\u2019t ever seem as stressful. Nor will any time in your life.
