There is so much more to God’s view of us than meets the eye. He loves us more than we can ever explain, imagine or even fathom. Have you ever had days where you felt like you shouldn’t pray or speak to God? Have there ever been days where you didn’t want to go to church because you were angry, or even felt unworthy to be in God’s presence? Well if you have, you’re not alone and if you haven’t, then there will surely be days where those feelings will creep into your heart and mind.
A Christian artist by the name Mark Schultz, gives us a glimpse into how our Father views us, especially when we are on the verge of giving up in life, and when we are doubting ourselves. The lyrics are as follows:
First verse: “Tomorrow she’ll be turning 17. But somehow now the mirror has become her enemy. Feeling like she’ll never measure up. Feeling like she’ll never be enough. Chorus: But in her Father’s eyes, He’s taken by her beauty. And captivated by her every time. In her Father’s eyes, He’s longing just to tell her, she’s never been more lovely in her life. If only she could see herself one time, in her Father’s eyes.”
As a girl who can relate to this, the first verse hits home for me. Have you ever felt as though you’d never measure up or be enough? We all have at one point or another. But in God’s eyes, you’re beautiful and God is captivated by you. He loves you more than anyone else and He is longing to tell you how He sees you and that you’ve never been more amazing than you are, right here, right now. Even in the times when you feel like giving up, God will bring you through it. When you look at yourself in the mirror and don’t see anything or anyone worthwhile, never believe that lie, because you are more than worth it to your Father in Heaven.
Second verse: “He’s on the edge of giving up tonight. He’s feeling like he’s wasted the best days of his life. Afraid he’ll never be the man he thought that he could be. When he looks inside he’s so ashamed of who he sees. [Chorus]: But in his Father’s eyes he is a son of glory. The image of a strong and mighty king. In his Father’s eyes, there’s more left in the story. He’s fighting hard to hold back tears of pride. If only he could see himself tonight. In his Father’s eyes.”
Everyone has felt like giving up in life. There isn’t anyone who hasn’t felt like they’ve wasted the best days of their life. If you’re thinking and afraid that you’ll never be the person you thought you’d be, tell yourself to rethink it and tell yourself that you can and that you will become the person you want to be. It is hard to feel so ashamed that you don’t want to try anymore. But don’t let that thought control your thinking every day. It’ll only bring you down. You can become anyone you want to be in this life. Don’t let your fear stop you. In your Father’s eyes, you are the son/daughter of The King of Kings. He values your life. You’re a son and daughter of the most High. There is so much more left in your story. Tell God how you feel about everything and anything in your lie. Confide in Him about your fears and then ask Him to help you conquer those fears. Then surrender those feelings to Him. Whether it is feelings of failure, pain, sorrow, or fear or even, anger at yourself, you can and will rise above it. There is nothing He won’t bring you through.
Bridge: “So, no matter where you are. And no matter what you’ve done. You’re not alone. You’re not alone. And no matter where you’ve been. And no matter where you run. Come back home. Come back home.”
Remember that nothing you’ve done is too bad for Gods to forgive you for. There is also nothing He can’t bring you through. If God brings you to it, then He will bring you through it.
[Chorus]”Because in your Father’s eyes, you’re loved with such abandon. He’s running to you now arms open wide. In your Father’s eyes, you’re safe and you’re accepted. There’s nothing you can do to change His mind. If only you could see yourself one time. If only you could see yourself one time. In your Father’s eyes. In your Father’s eyes.”
God loves you so much that all He wants is a relationship with you. The lyrics bring into our minds the story, about the prodigal son in Luke 15:17-22. When the son finally came to his senses, he went to his father to beg for forgiveness. While he was still a long way off his father saw him, and ran to him with arms open wide and embraced him. There is nothing He wouldn’t accept you for, and there is nothing He wouldn’t do to have you as His child. You are always worth everything in your Father’s eyes.

Have you ever wondered what you look like in Gods eyes?
