You\u2019re never really alone. Even though sometimes you wonder where God is, when hard times hit. You wonder how He is working and where He is working, since it\u2019s not obvious and right in front of you in plain sight. You may even sometimes wonder how He can know everything that is happening, and will happen in your life. The good news is, that He is in control of every aspect of our lives. He knows what things are going to happen, when they are going to occur, and even why He allows them to occur.<\/div>\n
You may find yourself asking these questions such as “why me? Why did you let my family member get sick, why did you let my pet die, why can\u2019t you give me enough money to provide for my family? Why does it feel like you\u2019re never there when I need you? Why does everything always fall on my shoulders?” Even though, you may not mean to be complaining a lot of the time, once you start,\u00a0it can be hard to stop.
\nSome days you may not even notice that you\u2019re being a negative Nelly until someone actually points it out to your face.\u00a0 In times of trials and hardship, it is very easy to start complaining about the way things are going in life.
\nOther questions we may ask are: “why do I feel so alone when I am surrounded by people I love and they love me back? Who are my true friends? Where are the true friends in my life when I need them? How can I tell who is a true friend and who is a fake one in my life? How come you didn\u2019t give me more friends in my life Lord?” We can focus on how alone we feel, or we can focus on the blessings all around us, no matter how we may be feeling.
\nAs an example of feeling alone, when I was in college, I felt alone.\u00a0A lot of the time\u00a0I wished I had more friends. Over time, I started to branch out and gained more friends. But when I was in my dorm, or even just doing my homework in the library, I felt completely alone. Even though there were people all around me, I felt lonely, because a lot of the time, my friends were so busy with school that they couldn\u2019t hang out. A lot of the time it also seemed as though I was the one who always made the call, text to see if people wanted to hang out. Only once in a while did someone reach out to me to hang out without me asking.
\nIt can be hard feeling alone, no matter what age you may be. But the good news is, you\u2019re never really alone. Especially if you have a relationship with Jesus Christ as your savior. If you feel that you\u2019re alone, you can always bring your thoughts to Him and talk to Him about how to shake those feelings away. He is always there for you and will never leave you nor forsake you. Jesus is the one true friend in our lives that will never ever abandon us. Even if we end up turning away from Him, He is always there to welcome us back to Him, with open arms and a loving heart.
\nPsalm 34:18 says, \u201cThe Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.\u201d
\nJohn 16:32-33 says, \u201cBehold, the hour is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own home, and will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me. I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.\u201d
\nEcclesiastes 4:9-10 says, \u201cTwo are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!\u201d
\nEveryone has probably heard the verse from Psalm 23 4. \u201cEven though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.\u201d This means that no matter how bad things seem, God is still present.
\n\u201c1 Corinthians 7: 32-35 says, \u201cI want you to be free from anxieties. The unmarried man is anxious about the things of the Lord, how to please the Lord. But the married man is anxious about worldly things, how to please his wife, and his interests are divided. And the unmarried or betrothed woman is anxious about the things of the Lord, how to be holy in body and spirit. But the married woman is anxious about worldly things, how to please her husband. I say this for your own benefit, not to lay any restraint upon you, but to promote good order and to secure your undivided devotion to the Lord.\u201d<\/div>\n
This verse is somewhat confusing. It just means that we should try our best to devote everything we do and say to the Lord. It points out that the unmarried man, is anxious about things and goes to the Lord for help. Yet the married man cares more about pleasing his wife than pleasing God. It says the unmarried or betrothed woman is more concerned about pleasing God, than she is about pleasing\u00a0her husband. A woman who is married is said to be anxious about things of this world. That isn’t always the case, though. So many\u00a0couples work together to find the Lord and to serve Him in their marriage.
\nGod doesn\u2019t want anyone to feel lonely. Even though we may feel\u00a0that way\u00a0at times. Remember, in His presence, we are never far away from help.<\/div>\n
