What do you do to combat your anxiety? Do you exercise, swim, blast rock and roll music or any type of music? Do you sing, watch a funny TV show or watch your all-time favorite movie for the 1,000th time? Have any of those things actually helped calm you? Have you ever prayed during an anxiety attack? Did it help you refocus on the bigger picture in your life, that\u00a0you’re blessed even if you feel like you’re sinking? How about reading the Bible in the midst of an anxiety attack? Reading the\u00a0Bible can be a hard thing to do especially in the middle of having an anxiety attack. However, here are some Bible verses that you can read and remind yourself of, in case you need them.<\/p>\n
Luke 12:22-26 “\u00a0<\/sup>Then Jesus said to his disciples:\u00a0\u201cTherefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn, yet God feeds them.\u00a0And how much more valuable you are than birds!<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?<\/span><\/span>\u00a026\u00a0<\/sup>Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Psalm 27:1 “The\u00a0Lord<\/span>\u00a0is my light\u00a0and my salvation\u2014<\/span>whom shall I fear?<\/span><\/span> The\u00a0Lord<\/span>\u00a0is the stronghold\u00a0of my life\u2014<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>of whom shall I be afraid?”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Psalm 55: 22 “Cast your cares on the\u00a0Lord\u00a0<\/span><\/span>and he will sustain you;\u00a0<\/span><\/span>he will never let the righteous be shaken.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous.\u00a0Do not be afraid or terrified\u00a0because of them, for the\u00a0Lord<\/span>\u00a0your God goes with you;\u00a0he will never leave you\u00a0nor forsake\u00a0you.\u201d<\/p>\n Isaiah 41:13-14″For I am the\u00a0Lord<\/span>\u00a0your God who takes hold of your right hand\u00a0<\/span><\/span>and says to you, Do not fear;<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>I will help\u00a0you.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/sup>Do not be afraid,\u00a0you worm\u00a0Jacob,\u00a0<\/span>little Israel, do not fear,<\/span><\/span> for I myself will help\u00a0you,\u201d declares the\u00a0Lord<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>your Redeemer,\u00a0the Holy One\u00a0of Israel.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Psalm 118:6-7 “The\u00a0Lord<\/span>\u00a0is with me;\u00a0I will not be afraid.\u00a0<\/span>What can mere mortals do to me?\u00a0<\/span><\/span>The\u00a0Lord<\/span>\u00a0is with me; he is my helper.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>I look in triumph on my enemies.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n 1 Peter 5:6-7 “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God\u2019s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.<\/span>\u00a0Cast all your anxiety on him\u00a0because he cares for you.”<\/span><\/p>\n Philippians\u00a04:13 “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”<\/p>\n Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything,\u00a0but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.<\/span>\u00a0And the peace of God,\u00a0which transcends all understanding,\u00a0will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”<\/span><\/p>\n Psalm 34:4 “I sought the\u00a0Lord<\/span>,\u00a0and he answered me;<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>he delivered\u00a0me from all my fears.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Psalm 34:7 “The angel of the\u00a0Lord<\/span>\u00a0encamps around those who fear him,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>and he delivers\u00a0them.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Psalm 56:3 “When I am afraid,\u00a0I put my trust in you.”<\/p>\n Jon 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.\u00a0I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled\u00a0and do not be afraid.”<\/p>\n 2 Timothy 1:7 “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid,\u00a0but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.”<\/p>\n 1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear\u00a0because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”<\/p>\n Psalm 94:18 “When anxiety\u00a0was great within me,\u00a0<\/span>your consolation\u00a0brought me joy.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Isaiah 43:1 “But now, this is what the\u00a0Lord<\/span>\u00a0says\u2014<\/span><\/span>he who created\u00a0you, Jacob,<\/span><\/span> he who formed\u00a0you, Israel: <\/span><\/span>\u201cDo not fear, for I have redeemed\u00a0you;\u00a0<\/span>I have summoned you by name;\u00a0you are mine.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Proverbs 12:25 “Anxiety weighs down the heart,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>but a kind word cheers it up.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Psalm 23:4 “Even though I walk\u00a0<\/span>through the darkest valley\u00a0<\/span><\/span>I will fear no evil,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>for you are with me;\u00a0<\/span><\/span>your rod and your staff,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>they comfort me.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid;\u00a0do not be discouraged,\u00a0for the\u00a0Lord<\/span>\u00a0your God will be with you wherever you go.\u201d<\/p>\n Mathew 6:34 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”<\/p>\n Isaiah 35:4-8 “Say\u00a0to those with fearful hearts,\u00a0<\/span>\u201cBe strong, do not fear,<\/span> your God will come,\u00a0<\/span>he will come with vengeance;<\/span> with divine retribution,\u00a0<\/span>he will come to save\u00a0you.<\/span>5\u00a0<\/sup>Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf\u00a0unstopped.\u00a0<\/sup>Then will the lame\u00a0leap like a deer, and the mute tongue\u00a0shout for joyWater will gush forth in the wilderness\u00a0<\/span>and streams\u00a0in the desert.\u00a0<\/span>The burning sand will become a pool, the thirsty ground\u00a0bubbling springs. In the haunts where jackals\u00a0once lay\u00a0<\/span>grass and reeds\u00a0and papyrus will grow.<\/span>\u00a0<\/sup>And a highway\u00a0will be there;\u00a0<\/span>it will be called the Way of Holiness<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>it will be for those who walk on that Way.”<\/span><\/p>\n Hopefully, all of these verses can and will help your anxiety lessen.
