Don’t be afraid to reach out to God when you need help.

Don’t be ashamed or afraid to follow your instincts. They are there for a reason. If something feels wrong, listen to that little voice inside your head. That little voice is called your conscience. It tells you when you should and shouldn’t do something. Don’t do something if it is against your morals. If it feels wrong, then weigh your options carefully and make the right decision.

Listen To The Holy Spirit’s Guidance

The voice is also the Holy Spirit trying to get your attention. God is making you aware of how any situation could affect your life and morals as a Christian. It is also a way that God makes you aware of when things aren’t the way they should be, in your circle.

For instance, if someone is drinking around you and you don’t want to drink, then you have every right not to. Make smart life-saving decisions. Listen to your heart when it tells you when it is time to walk away from a situation that could cause you harm.

Then There’s That Nudge

Sometimes the nudge can be subtle such as a feeling of God telling you that a certain situation may not be the proper place for you. Or it can be a loud resounding shout from God to get out of a situation, fast. Whether it is the small voice or the loud resounding voice of His Spirit telling you to walk away, listen to Him first and get out while you can.

Whether you are in school, at work, or at home or when you’re driving, if you feel that nudge within your heart, follow it. If you feel that nudge telling you not to do something, trust yourself and don’t do it. Don’t give in to the temptation of Satan telling you to go against your morals.

Don’t ever be ashamed to follow your instincts. You know the difference between right and wrong. Trust yourself to make the right judgment calls in every situation.

Stand Up and Say Something

If you see something is wrong, then step up and say something about it. If you see someone getting mistreated, come to their aid and try your best to help them. If someone is being picked on because of their appearance, then tell them that they are beautiful, no matter what they look like.

If someone tries to get you to go against your morals or against your faith, you have every right to stand up to them and tell them to not mock your faith. You have every right to stand up for yourself. If your faith is important to you, show it. Don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself whenever you feel you need to. Don’t be afraid to stand up and be there for others, either.
Say Exactly What You Mean

Another way to improve your lifestyle is to say what you mean, while not being mean about it. Don’t be afraid to say what you really feel. Saying exactly what you mean and having the words come out nicely, is a very rewarding feeling. When you say things in a calm matter instead of getting angry, you are acting more mature as well. Take pride in speaking up.
Don’t Be a People Pleaser

You don’t have to live your life to please other people or make them approve of you, either. Your life is not meant to be lived to be a people pleaser. No one really wants to live like that for their whole life because it is so tiring. It can wear you out mentally, physically and emotionally.

When you are constantly thinking, “Will I be enough for this position” “Will I get this position?” “Am I good enough, smart enough or strong enough?” “Do these people like me or my work ethic?” All of those thoughts can wear you down faster than ever. If you think about pleasing others instead of just living life for yourself and doing the things you love, you will miss out on the joy that comes with feeling deep in your heart that you are doing the right things.

When you are doing things, try and do them as if you are doing them for God, too. Doing things as if you are doing them for the Lord, helps you remember that God is there in every aspect of your life, whether it is good, bad or in between. When you make your focus “I’m doing this for God and for His glory, not for myself or my glory,” things will become so much easier to do.
Never Speak Badly About Yourself

If you speak ill of yourself, or if you speak negatively about yourself you won’t be as happy as you should be. The chances are that you will start to believe the lies that Satan puts in your head about your self-esteem. God made you perfect and flawless. Do your best. Don’t doubt your abilities. God gave you the abilities you have for a reason. Every ability that you have is for you to use for God’s glory. Don’t worry if you haven’t found your unique passion or figured out your abilities yet because God is molding you into the person you are meant to be each day. Trust Him in His timing and enjoy the journey.

Love Your Life

Enjoy life with everything you have within you. Don’t let anyone or any circumstance steal your joy or zest for life. The reality is, you never know how long you have. Make every moment count. You can have a healthier, not to mention a calmer life if you listen to your heart, listen to God and His spirit keeping you on track and let your conscience guide you.

You can have a healthier and happier life if you can learn how to give up some of the stressors in your life over to God.
