Man-Praying
How does someone find peace, not to mention happiness in their lives, if they’ve never looked for it themselves in the first place? Sometimes it can be a very difficult question to answer. It can be difficult, because the person may not even know where to start to look for the happiness and peace that they’ve been looking for not to mention longing for. But on the other hand, it is very easy to obtain the peace. The most important thing a person has to do is want the peace in their lives. If they constantly think about how everyone and everything has let them down, and how miserable they are in their life, then their heart, not to mention their soul and their mind is clouded by the lie that things will only get worse as their life goes on and they are also fed the lie by Satan that things will never get any better. Nothing in this life is worth just giving up and being so unhappy that you lose all hope. If you act like that all the time and make the problem of this world your problem, no one will want to be around you. Period.
Here is the truth though to anyone struggling with this: you have the choice to either wallow in your own misery, or to stand tall in life and say: these feelings that I have inside of me will not be what defeats me. Nor will these feelings be the things that label me as to who I am. I can be anything I want to be in life. Repeat that mantra to yourself. Even practice it and recite it daily if you have to. – “These feelings of self-pity will not be the definition of my life, nor will they defeat me. I can have happiness and I will invite the happiness into my life because God wants me to be happy. I am His child.”
You may wonder how to start looking for the happiness and peace you have been longing for in your life. Two of the easiest ways to obtain it is by praying and by accepting that peace into your heart, soul, mind and body. It takes constant practice to remember that when things get tough in life, to pray about them instead of freaking out over them. But it is something that will help you greatly reduce your stress in the long run. Peace will even come easier to you, too.
Another way you can find peace is by reading God’s word. Some Bible verses about peace include:
Hebrews 12:14: 14 Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness, no one will see the Lord.” This means you should try your best to live in peace with everyone around you. It isn’t always easy but it is rewarding.
1 Peter 3: 11” They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.” This means you have to seek the peace He gives you and you have to wasn’t to pursue it with a passion in your heart.
Philippians 4:7 says, “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” God’s peace truly does pass all of our human understanding. We can never understand things the way He does because we are man and He is God. That’s exactly why the peace that He gives you feels like it’s out of this world, because He made it feel that way. It’s a really cool feeling once you experience it. Once you experience it, you’ll want more and seek Him more.
Proverbs 16:7 says, “When the LORD takes pleasure in anyone’s way, he causes their enemies to make peace with them.” He allows you to make peace with everyone, but you and the others have to want to make peace in both of your hearts.
You don’t have to chase after peace, because God’s peace is right there alongside you. He is always with you. You don’t have to search far for true happiness in your life, either. Just look at everything God has blessed you with. Thank Him for it daily and remember that you’re His child. He can help you through anything you may be going through. If you ask Him and mean it fully, He will allow the peace that transcends all human understanding and the happiness that He wants you to have, to come into your life. Once you feel His presence in your life, you will feel His peace flow through you, into your words and actions, to the others around you. You can even change someone else’s life through your own peace.
