Watchwoman:<\/strong><\/span> From what I read below, I’m not sure I would be able to conclude that Mike McQueary stopped Jerry Sandusky from continuing to rape the 10-year old boy who Sandusky was so do mizing in the shower. \u00a0I mean, McQueary could have been “shell-shocked,” like a deer caught in the headlights, from the outrageous thing he witnessed, so that he was\u00a0stupefied into a form of immobility\u00a0as to what action he should take and hence called his father. \u00a0I mean when someone sees something so out of the ordinary scope of human behavior, so shocking that the brain cannot process it, especially if what they saw was being done by a superior of which they had respect for, and no where near what he expected to see that person ever doing, because this perverted act was so filthy, he just couldn’t wrap his mind around it and needed time to actually regain the use of his brain cells. Human witnesses, I think, can have a stymied, or halted or completely unexpected response, that is not in accordance to what their normal mode their otherwise moral character would prompt had the situation been less unanticipated. \u00a0What do you think? \u25ac \u00a0Donna Calvin<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mike McQueary<\/a>, the\u00a0Penn State<\/a>\u00a0assistant football coach under fire for his reported lack of action in an alleged 2002 rape of a boy byJerry Sandusky<\/a>, said in an email to a former classmate that he stopped the assault in an athletic facility shower and discussed it with police.<\/p>\n

In the email obtained by The Morning Call, McQueary wrote that he “did have discussions with police and with the official at the university in charge of police” following the alleged incident between Sandusky, a former Penn State assistant coach, and a boy. McQueary also wrote that he “is getting hammered for handling this the right way or what I thought at the time was right.”<\/p>\n

“I had to make tough impacting quick decisions,” McQueary wrote.<\/p>\n

He’s expected to appear tonight on\u00a0CBS<\/a>\u00a0Evening News, according to a tweet from CBS.<\/p>\n

McQueary has been criticized widely for not going directly to police to report the abuse. A grand jury report stated a graduate assistant, later identified as McQueary, witnessed the abuse in the shower and left.<\/p>\n

McQueary was placed on administrative leave last week after Penn State officials said he had received threats.<\/p>\n

According to the grand jury report, the graduate assistant said he saw a boy, whose age he estimated at 10 years old, “being subjected to anal intercourse” by a naked Sandusky in a shower at the Penn State football building in March 2002. The graduate assistant left “immediately,” was “distraught” and called his father, according to the presentment. His father told him to leave the building and come to his home, according to the presentment.<\/p>\n

In the email obtained by The Morning Call, dated Nov. 8, McQueary said “I did stop it, not physically, but made sure it was stopped when I left that locker room.”<\/p>\n

“No one can imagine my thoughts or wants to be in my shoes for those 30-45 seconds,” McQueary wrote. “Trust me.”<\/p>\n

The email obtained by The Morning Call is the second to surface from McQueary in which he claims the facts of his involvement are distorted.\u00a0NBC<\/a>\u00a0News reported Monday night that McQueary emailed friends and former teammates, telling them, “I did the right thing\u2026you guys know me\u2026the truth is not out there fully\u2026I didn’t just turn and run\u2026I made sure it stopped\u2026I had to make quick tough decisions.”<\/p>\n

This new email obtained by The Morning Call, however, is the first where McQueary says he had discussions with police and where he comments in more detail about the alleged shower incident since it was disclosed in the grand jury report.<\/p>\n

Sandusky is charged with 40 counts of sexual abuse of children and free on $100,000 bail.<\/p>\n
