Watchwoman: <\/strong><\/span>We do not participate in Halloween based upon what we have read in our Bible. \u00a0We are taught that we are not to have any contact or\u00a0affiliation\u00a0with anything that represents Satan or anything representing the dead, like ghosts, the undead (like vampires), or anything\u00a0originating\u00a0on the evil side\/darkness.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The following is just a small sprinkling of what the King James Bible has to say about activities relating to devils and other images related to Halloween<\/span>…<\/strong><\/p>\n

[1 Samuel 15:23] \u00a0<\/strong>For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.<\/p>\n

[2 Chronicles 33:6]<\/strong> \u00a0And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger. [Galatians 5:19] \u00a0Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, [20] \u00a0Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, [21] \u00a0Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.<\/p>\n

[Ephesians 5:11]<\/strong> And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.<\/p>\n

[2nd Corinthians 6:17]<\/strong> \u00a0Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

SHOULD CHRISTIANS PARTICIPATE IN HALLOWEEN CELEBRATIONS? (POLL)<\/h1>\n

\"\"Most Americans revere Halloween as the only day of the year during which their children can go door-to-door to collect massive amounts of candy from neighbors, while wearing bizarre costumes. For many, the celebrations associated with the holiday are benign, entertaining and carry very little significance.<\/p>\n

But others \u2014 manly those in America\u2019s Christian community \u2014 see participation in the holiday as an official observance of evil (or at the least, a positive reinforcement of negative forces). Over the years, many churches have come up with alternative plans so that families can avoid the negative tenets that are often associated with the holiday. Often dubbed \u201charvest festivals,\u201d these celebrations provide children and families with candy, Bible games and other associated alternative activities.<\/p>\n
