CANTON, OH (WOIO) –\u00a0<\/span>A 22-year-old man\u00a0arriving at a late-night Bible study was fatally shot during an attempted robbery. \u00a0<\/span>It happened around 10:30PM, Sept. 22, 2011, outside of a home on\u00a0Hazlett in the city of Canton.\u00a0<\/span>Police say Dale Settle, Jr. was arriving at the\u00a0home with two other people\u00a0when he was approached by armed thugs. \u00a0<\/span>Settle was shot once in the stomach while holding his Bible. He was rushed to the hospital, where he died early Friday morning. \u00a0<\/span><\/span>Settle’s father tells 19 Action News he was killed by the very people he was trying to help.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Settle\u00a0was due to graduate from\u00a0the University\u00a0of Akron this semester.<\/p>\n
