Watchwoman: <\/strong>Below it states:\u00a0\u00a0\u201cemerging evidence suggests that statewide campaigns to deny same-sex couples legal access to civil marriage are a significant source of stress to the lesbian, gay and bisexual residents of those states and may have negative effects on their psychological well-being.\u201d<\/em> \u00a0Wow! \u00a0Now isn’t that a shock! \u00a0God convicts us when we commit sins. \u00a0It makes us feel very uncomfortable. \u00a0We’re supposed to feel bad (a sense of not being well and at peace) when we are living in sin, especially continual, habitual sin and thereby separated from God and headed towards hell! \u00a0If we want to feel at peace, we should welcome God’s prodding us to return to a state where we are living a life that is pleasing to God. \u00a0If any doctor thinks he\/she\/it can change the state of well-being for any human being living in a sinful state to feeling so comfortable with their sin that they feel completely at ease, they are wrong. \u00a0It cannot be done. \u00a0Why? \u00a0Because God says that to have peace, one must live a life that is pleasing to Him. \u00a0If you want peace, read a piece I posted entitled…<\/span><\/span>“Inspirational. \"\"The American Psychological Association (APA) placed itself squarely into the debate over same-sex marriage today.<\/p>\n

The governing body of the APA\u2019s 154,000 members voted 157-0 on a resolution in support of redefining marriage. Since 2004, it has contributed to 11 amicus briefs in favor of same-sex marriage.<\/p>\n

The resolution said \u201cemerging evidence suggests that statewide campaigns to deny same-sex couples legal access to civil marriage are a significant source of stress to the lesbian, gay and bisexual residents of those states and may have negative effects on their psychological well-being.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rogers H. Wright and Nicholas A. Cummings, past presidents of divisions within the APA and self-identified \u201clifelong liberal activists,\u201d would not be surprised with the APA\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n

\u201cPolitical diversity is so absent in mental health circles that most psychologists and social workers live in a bubble,\u201d Cummings once wrote. \u201cSo seldom does anyone express ideological disagreement with colleagues that they believe all intelligent people think as they do.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are aware that conservatives exist, but regard the term \u2018intelligent conservative\u2019 as an oxymoron.\u201d<\/p>\n

In their book, \u201cDestructive Trends in Mental Health,\u201d Wright and Cummings concluded that the APA is now run by \u201cagenda-driven ideologues\u201d and that \u201cpsychology, psychiatry and social work have been captured by an ultra-liberal agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n

Political correctness is ingrained in the institutions of social science, academia and government agencies that they say it has a chilling effect on objective research \u2014 and free speech.<\/p>\n

They\u2019ve chronicled numerous instances where \u201cactivism masquerades as science in the APA and how \u2018diversity\u2019 has been redefined into a kind of narrow politicism, where differing worldviews are not only summarily dismissed, but the holders of such views actually punished.\u201d<\/p>\n

The authors worry that the credibility of the organization is being further undermined with each resolution and policy statement made on issues where science is lacking.<\/p>\n
