As Christians, we need to stand up for our rights to pray in Jesus’ name and to stand for our biblical view. If this ban is lifted, Christians in the military will suffer persecution. OCA will be there to defend their rights. Here is a Washington\u00a0Times article on the lifting of the ban on homosexuals in the military.<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0OCA will be surveying Presidential candidates of where they stand on homosexuals serving openly in the U.S. military.<\/strong>\"\"Big Week At The\u00a0Ohio\u00a0Statehouse For The Ohio Christian Alliance – July 13th<\/strong>The Founding of America Documents Bill, sponsored by State Senators Tim Grendell and Larry Obhof,\u00a0passed unanimously out of the Ohio Senate.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cI am pleased that the Senate supported passage of the bill. By reading these Founding Documents, students will gain a better understanding of our government, and will more fully understand their rights and\u00a0America\u2019s\u00a0unique place in history,” stated Senator Larry Obhof.<\/p>\n

In addition, Senator Grendell said, \u201cIt is important that high school students learn and understand United States history and the Constitutions of both the United States and the\u00a0State of Ohio. We can\u2019t expect children to understand and defend the rights and freedoms our Founding Fathers intended for us\u2014rights and freedoms many Americans have died for\u2014if they don\u2019t have an understanding of how these documents led to the system of government we have today. By giving these young people an understanding of our heritage, we are better preparing them to be active, and productive citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n

OCA President Chris Long stated, \u201cThis legislation is overdue. It was that great founding patriot, John Adams, who warned his generation that, \u2018A Constitution of Government once changed from freedom, can never be restored.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Liberty, once lost, is lost forever.\u2019”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Founding of America Documents Bill<\/strong>\u00a0will strengthen the language currently in the Ohio Revised Code pertaining to the American History and Government curriculum to include The Declaration of Independence, The Northwest Ordinance, The Constitution of the United States with emphasis on The Bill of Rights, The Ohio Constitution, the Federalist and Anti-Federalist Papers.<\/p>\n

FDR\u2019s D-Day Landing Prayer<\/strong><\/p>\n

H.R. 116, A Resolution Supporting\u00a0 FDR\u2019s D-Day Landing Prayer Inclusion at the WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C., passed unanimously by a vote of 90-0 in the Ohio House.\u00a0 State Rep. Danny Bubp gave an emotional appeal, urging his colleagues to support the resolution.\u00a0\u00a0Click here to hear Rep. Bubp’s motion to adopt H.R. 116 that supports H.R. 2070,\u00a0<\/a>federal legislation that will include FDR’s D-Day Landing Prayer in its entirety at the WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C., sponsored by Congressman Bill Johnson of Ohio’s 6th DIstrict.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sixty-seven years ago, on the morning of June 6, 1944, as Allied forces were landing on the beaches in\u00a0Normandy, President Roosevelt went to the airwaves and prayed with our nation for God\u2019s blessing and protection upon our brave fighting men.\u00a0 He prayed, \u201cAlmighty God: Our sons, pride of our nation, this day have set upon a mighty endeavor, a struggle to preserve our Republic, our religion, and our civilization, and to set free a suffering humanity\u2026.\u201d
