I received a very\u00a0disturbing\u00a0alert from The American Family Association. I took action, and I hope you will too. \u00a0This is what AFA wrote in their TAKE ACTION ALERT.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Under the new leadership of Chairman\u00a0Edward Lampert, Sears is now offering hard-core pornographic DVDs and music.\u00a0Not just a few x-rated products, but scores of them! <\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong>AFA ordered one of the DVDs to see if it really came from Sears.\u00a0It did! <\/strong>It was mailed to us in a Sears envelope, with a Sears shipping label, from a Sears distribution center.\u00a0See it here<\/a><\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Not only does Sears’ website allow children to view its pornographic offerings online, it will sell them to children. During our online check-out process, we were never asked to verify our age.<\/p>\n

I hope you will take my word for it, but if you must see the proof, AFA has set up a\u00a0Sears Project page<\/a><\/strong><\/span> with more information, including a short video showing AFA navigating Sears’ website quickly and easily to access hundreds of explicit products.\u00a0Warning: the material is extremely graphic and offensive, although it has been edited by us.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong>Technology allows Sears to remove and stop selling these products within minutes, if they want too.<\/strong> AFA has tried more than a half-dozen times to reach out to Sears quietly and professionally. Basically, their single response was, “We’re going to keep on selling them!”<\/p>\n

Take Action<\/strong><\/p>\n

Unless Sears hears from you, they will continue to sell hardcore pornography.<\/strong> If you can only do one thing, please:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please call your local store manager and politely ask him to pass your concern along to his district manager. You can\u00a0find your local store phone number here<\/a><\/span>, or in your local yellow pages.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Additional steps you can take to make your voice heard:<\/p>\n

1. Send an email in your own words using\u00a0Sears’ website feedback form<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.
\n2. Make a call to the Sears’ Public Relations Department at\u00a0847-286-8371, option 1.
\n3. Make a personal phone call to Sears, so your concerns are clearly understood. Call Sears’ corporate headquarters directly and ask to leave a message with Chairman Edward Lampert’s office. The number is\u00a0847-286-2500.<\/p>\n
