The Houston National\u00a0Cemetery\u00a0has told veterans and volunteers that they can no longer use the words &#8220;God,&#8221; &#8220;God bless,&#8221; or &#8220;Jesus&#8221; at any and all funerals or in\u00a0condolence\u00a0cards. They&#8217;re &#8220;offensive.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Another craven example of the left&#8217;s war on America. We are not godless.<\/p>\n<p>Are &#8220;Jesus&#8221; and &#8220;G-d&#8221; being singled out here? When I called the Houston National Cemetery to inquire, I was told that Arlene Ocasio was off this week (how convenient). I further inquired whether this prohibition includes Allah and was tersely told that &#8220;the matter was in litigation&#8221; and no comment would be forthcoming (how convenient). I&#8217;d like to see them try this with Moe, but I suspect the number of Muslim soldiers in this veterans cemetery is &#8230;.. minimal.<\/p>\n<p>In any case, Ocasio should be fired. Immediately. Out. of. control.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/punditpress.blogspot.com\/2011\/06\/va-cemetery-to-veterans-word-god-jesus.html\" target=\"_blank\">VA Cemetery to Veterans: The Word &#8220;God,&#8221; &#8220;Jesus&#8221; are Offensive, no &#8230;<\/a> Posted by Aurelius over at Pundit Press<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div>\n<div>The Houston National\u00a0Cemetery\u00a0has told veterans and volunteers alike that they can no longer use the word &#8220;God,&#8221;&#8221;God bless,&#8221; or &#8220;Jesus&#8221; at any and all funerals or condolence cards. \u00a0The word has been deemed &#8216;offensive.&#8217;<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>That is according to local volunteer and veterans groups that work at the\u00a0cemetery. \u00a0They are now suing the Cemetery in\u00a0federal court\u00a0so that they can use the word God.<\/p>\n<p>To cite one specific example given in the suit,\u00a0the director\u00a0of the cemetery,\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.chron.com\/disp\/story.mpl\/metropolitan\/7630537.html\" target=\"_blank\">Arleen Ocasio commanded volunteers<\/a>never to use &#8220;God bless you&#8221; and &#8220;God bless&#8221; ever again at the cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>Cheryl Whitfield, founder of Houston National Memorial Ladies, could not simply stand by. &#8220;I could&#8217;ve kept my mouth shut and let things happen, but when it comes to standing up for your belief in God and giving comfort to the families, I don&#8217;t want to regret not saying anything,&#8221; she said. &#8220;We all had to stand up for what we believe in.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, the suit brought against the cemetery and the\u00a0Department of Veterans Affairs\u00a0states that there has been &#8220;a widespread and consistent\u00a0practice\u00a0of discriminating against private religious speech.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The suit goes on to describe Ms. Ocasio&#8217;s running of the cemetery:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<figure style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/th1107.photobucket.com\/albums\/h399\/kevingardner2011\/th_DSCN0498glory.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"160\" height=\"120\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Get rid of the Cross and Bible!!!  Does this sound like Nazi Germany in 1939?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;The doors remain locked during Houston National Cemetery operating hours, the cross and the Bible have been removed, and the Chapel bells, which tolled at least twice a day, are now inoperative. Director Ocasio only unlocks the chapel doors when meetings or\u00a0training\u00a0sessions are held at the building. Furthermore, it is no longer called a &#8216;chapel&#8217; but a &#8216;meeting facility.&#8217;\u2009&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Another man allegedly discriminated against in the suit was Vietnam veteran Nobleton Jones.
