WATCHWOMAN BACKGROUND INFO: <\/strong><\/span>If \u00a0you listen to Fox Cable News, you’ll already be aware of this, about the\u00a0“Project Gunrunner” and “Operation Fast and Furious,”\u00a0but if you listen to the commie news networks like ABC, CBS, \"\"NBC, CNN, etc., then you won’t know what this is all about and all that just may be involved. \u00a0In the early days of the Obama Administration there was a “stink”, oops, I mean sting operation along the southern boarder to supposedly allow about 2000 illegal firearms to be illegally allowed to enter Mexico to be distributed to the drug cartels so the US officials would be able to “catch” the illegal smugglers of arms. \u00a0Well, it all went to poo-poo land and, just like the questionable efficiency of the airlines who regularly lose luggage, guess what, the ATF law officials lost the illegal guns. \u00a0Surprise, surprise! \u00a0Imagine, that\u00a0government\u00a0screwed up! \u00a0How can that be? \u00a0Well, eventually, those guns were used to murder a Border Patrol Agent\u00a0Brian Terry along the Mexican boarder. \u00a0Although he wasn’t actually murdered with one of those guns, some of those guns were found at the sight of the crime. \u00a0That’s the background. \u00a0Obama is claiming he didn’t know anything about it. \u00a0I’ve heard that Holder is saying the same nonsense. \u00a0Come’on, now, you didn’t really expect the Dems to take responsibility for any of this mess did you? \u00a0Now the gun rights folks are claiming that Obama and Co. did it on purpose just to screw up and make it look like guns are more evil than you even thought they were. \u00a0I can’t prove that and I am not sure they have, but for what it’s worth, here’s more on the topic. \u00a0Meanwhile a man is dead, an American boarder patrol agent, and that is a real tragedy, but so is the boarder. \u00a0I mean we have more troops on the north\/south Korean boarder than we have on the American\/Mexican boarder. \u00a0That’s a crime too! \u00a0What we\u00a0definitely\u00a0need is someone we can trust to investigate this entire matter. \u00a0I certainly don’t trust the Obamanation Admin to rat on their own. \u00a0Do you? \u00a0If you do, then tell me why didn’t they do anything about the voter\u00a0intimidation\u00a0of the black voters by the Black Panthers in a recent past election in Philadelphia? \u00a0We need to know who is\u00a0responsible\u00a0for the smoking guns that got away from the ATF in “Project Gunrunner” and “Operation Fast and Furious.”\u00a0! \u00a0\u25ac Donna Calvin<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Are we near the end of the administration stonewalling?<\/p>\n

The latest developments of the failed\u00a0ATF\u00a0“Fast and Furious” and “Project\u00a0Gunrunner” Plan is that U.S.\u00a0Representative Darrell Issa\u00a0(R-CA) says:\u00a0“We believe he [Holder] was aware of it much earlier than he said in his testimony and questioning before the Judiciary Committee. Are we confident that\u00a0Eric Holder\u00a0knew it much earlier? Did he know it earlier than he testified? Absolutely.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

In a shocking interview last Thursday, Issa produced a potential “political bombshell” when he stated:\u00a0“The president knew about it before\u00a0Eric Holder, according to Eric Holder.”<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

On Friday,\u00a0White House Press Secretary\u00a0Jay Carney\u00a0said that\u00a0Barack Obama\u00a0did not know about or authorize the operation. “As the president has already said, he did not know about or authorize this operation,” said Carney, “but the\u00a0Department of Justice has said repeatedly that fighting criminal activity along the southwest border including the illegal trafficking of guns to Mexico has been and is a priority of this department.”<\/p>\n

In back-stepping a little, Issa says he does not think the president personally knew about the operation. “I take the president completely at his word there; that this isn’t something that would ordinarily rise directly to the president. Was it briefed to people in the\u00a0White House? I’m sure it was. Did he know about it personally? Probably not. Now that he said it should be looked into, the clock has been ticking a long time and nothing has happened as far as their releasing any findings.”<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Justice Department’s Inspector General\u00a0is investigating the matter in relationship to getting to the bottom of “Project Gunrunner” and “Operation Fast and Furious.” We want answers to see how big of a cover-up there really was.<\/p>\n

Some have likened this to the\u00a0Watergate scandal\u00a0of years ago.<\/p>\n

The initial fallout from this cover-up is that Kenneth Melson, the acting director of the Bureau of Tobacco, Alcohol and Firearms (ATF), is expected to step down in the wake of the “Fast and Furious” gun-running scheme in which weapons were sold to Mexico’s drug cartels.<\/p>\n

Melson, who has been acting director since April 2009, is likely to resign within the next couple of days, says\u00a0CNN.\u00a0Attorney General\u00a0Eric Holder met with Andrew Traver, head of the ATF field office in\u00a0Chicago\u00a0on Tuesday, about replacing Melson, CNN reported.<\/p>\n

The original “sting” strategy was that it would allow the ATF to trace the undercover weapons sold by them and to then discover who was selling them further. But the plan horrendously back-fired when the ATF admittedly lost track of two-thirds of the guns. It has been discovered and verified that the weapons have been used in at least 150 shootings!<\/p>\n

As reported by\u00a0Second Amendment Foundation\u00a0on numerous occasions, the scandal began to break wide open last December when\u00a0Border Patrol Agent\u00a0Brian Terry was murdered in Arizona and two weapons discovered at the scene were found to have been part of Project Gunrunner.<\/p>\n

After months of administration stonewalling<\/span><\/strong>, finally Mr. Obama has “sort of” acknowledged that the plan was flawed. “There MAY be a situation here in which a serious mistake was made. If that’s the case then we’ll find out and we’ll hold somebody accountable,” he said in March.\u00a0Obama\u00a0still claims that he had no prior knowledge of the operation.<\/p>\n

Last week, Iowa Republican Sen. Charles Grassley called for an independent investigation into the operation and called for heads to roll.<\/p>\n

Apparently, Kenneth Melson’s head will “roll.” Some have called him the\u00a0“scapegoat” <\/strong>for Eric Holder.<\/p>\n

During Issa’s important Congressional hearings last week, John Casa, an agent at the ATF’s Phoenix Field office called the program “a colossal failure of leadership.” He said every time there was a shooting in Arizona, including the one that killed six and seriously injured Democratic U.S.\u00a0Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, agents worried that guns from the operations could have been involved. “This happened time and time again,” he testified.<\/p>\n

House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman\u00a0Darrell Issa\u00a0(R-CA) said in a national interview that he believes the\u00a0Justice Department\u00a0is\u00a0covering up information<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/strong> relevant to a congressional investigation of an operation in which the department knowingly allowed intermediaries of\u00a0Mexican drug cartels\u00a0to purchase guns at licensed firearms dealers in the United States and then get away without being arrested or the guns being retrieved.<\/p>\n

Issa pointed to two things he says indicates a Justice Department cover up. First, he cites a letter that\u00a0Assistant Attorney General\u00a0Ronald Weich, head of the Justice Department’s office of legislative affairs, sent to Sen. Charles Grassley (R-IA), the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee on February 4, 2011. Issa characterizes that letter as a “lie.”<\/p>\n

Secondly, Issa says the Justice Department made excessive and unjustifiable omissions in documents it provided to his committee.<\/p>\n

The entire “grandiose” operation began in 2009 and ended in early 2011 with ONLY the indictment of 20 individuals on\u00a0relatively minor charges<\/span><\/strong> for illegal gun purchases!<\/p>\n

Agent Terry’s murder prompted ATF agents–who had warned their superiors of the risk of the Fast and Furious operation–to come forward as whistleblowers.<\/p>\n

Representative Darrell Issa made it very clear he thought it is a cover-up when he pointed to a Department of Justice to\u00a0Sen. Grassley\u00a0and the excess redaction of documents. He proclaimed: “There are two kinds of cover ups. There is one in which you lie to people in order to mislead them. That letter represents that type of cover-up. There’s also the one in which you delay and deny in an attempt to simply not have the facts come out. Clearly they’ve done that with Sen. Grassley, first, and then with our committee, because some of the things that they redacted, we have the un-redacted versions from whistleblowers. We believe they did excess redacting, which again is denying us that which would be reasonable to deliver us. We’re hoping that that’s changed. We hope that what was said yesterday (last Wednesday), there is in fact a change in the administration’s view in order to not be embarrassed.”<\/p>\n

Demand that Congress to get to the bottom of this!<\/strong><\/p>\n

You see,\u00a0here is how this cover-up affects you and me directly<\/span>—when the criminals use the illegal weapons, it puts gasoline on Mr. Obama’s anti-gun “fire” to go against ALL gun owners in general; and even against those who believe in our\u00a0Second Amendment rights! We cannot let Mr. Obama use this illegal act—perpetrated by his own administration—to use against legitimate gun owners!<\/p>\n

The Obama Administration is doing all this in a concentrated effort to blame America’s gun owners\u00a0like YOU<\/span> for the violent crime with guns in an attempt to pass new anti-gun laws to infringe on your gun rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
