When she looked at her leg, she saw a black spider crawling off of her, which her caddies immediately identified as the deadly Black Widow.<\/p>\n<p>The pain in her leg was instantaneous and severe. Holmqvist\u2019s caddies told her that venom from a Black Widow can kill a child in just half an hour, so they knew something had to be done fast. Most people would probably head straight to the emergency room \u2014 but not Holmqvist.<\/p>\n<p>As her leg started to swell, the golfer pulled a golf tee from her pocket, cut open her skin and squeezed the venom out. <a href=\"http:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/blogs\/golf-devil-ball-golf\/lpga-rookie-gets-bit-black-widow-mid-round-154429859--golf.html\" target=\"_blank\">The Yahoo! Sports blog \u201cDevil Ball Golf\u201d<\/a> speculates, quite accurately, that Holmqvist just may be the toughest golfer in the world.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_23623\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-23623\" style=\"width: 251px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/244\/2013\/02\/bws1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-23623\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/244\/2013\/02\/bws1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"251\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-23623\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Deadly Black Widow Spider<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cA clear fluid came out,\u201d <a href=\"http:\/\/www.golfdigest.com\/golf-digest-woman\/blogs\/golf-digest-woman\/2013\/02\/player-bitten-by-black-widow-s.html\" target=\"_blank\">Holmqvist said<\/a>. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t the prettiest thing I\u2019ve ever done, but I had to get as much of it out of me as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Then she finished the tournament, finishing out her round and shooting a 74. Unfortunately, she was four strokes short of qualifying, though she probably should\u2019ve gotten a few strokes taken off for playing after getting bit by a Black Widow.<\/p>\n<p>Holmqvist seems to be <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DHolmqvist\" target=\"_blank\">embracing her new nickname<\/a>: \u201cThe spider woman.\u201d Oh, and she also went to an actual doctor later on and is recovering nicely.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>So there is \u201cthe shark\u201d \u201cpink panther\u201d etc am I \u201cthe spider woman\u201d now?
