They say they\u2019re making collections for hurricane and storm relief,\u201d the MSNBC anchor said during a Tuesday broadcast of \u201cMitchell Reports.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe checked with the Red Cross. The Red Cross said, while they\u2019re always grateful for donations, that this is not what they need or want. They always tell people, \u2018please donate money, because we have our own packagers, wholesalers\u2019 \u2014 they have their own distribution system,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, in major weather events like Sandy, the Red Cross <em>does<\/em> put an emphasis on monetary donations. That\u2019s probably why, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theblaze.com\/stories\/ready-msnbc-anchor-makes-stunning-claim-while-criticizing-romneys-storm-volunteerism-red-cross-doesnt-want-or-need-your-donations\/piled%20high%20with%20flashlights,%20batteries,%20diapers,%20toothbrushes,%20mini-deodorants,%20fleece%20blankets,%20cereal,%20toilet%20paper%20and%20canned%20goods\" target=\"_self\">along with tables<\/a> \u201cpiled high with flashlights, batteries, diapers, toothbrushes, mini-deodorants, fleece blankets, cereal, toilet paper and canned goods,\u201d the Romney event also featured two large TV screens encouraging supporters to text \u201cREDCROSS\u201d to 90999 and \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/newsbusters.org\/blogs\/noel-sheppard\/2012\/10\/30\/msnbc-trashes-romney-collecting-food-and-supplies-sandy-victims\" target=\"_blank\">make a $10 donation<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd to now get these canned goods from the Romney event in Ohio, and have to first package it \u2014 used clothes, they have to clean, they can\u2019t go directly to victims. So, what they need are donations of blood and donations of money,\u201d said Mitchell. \u201cIt does seem like a thinly veiled, uh, why Ohio? Why choose Ohio for \u2013\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou, know, right, because the storm is kinda\u2019\u201d the Washington Post\u2019s Chris Cillizza chimed in.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot in Ohio?\u201d she said, finishing his sentence for him.<\/p>\n<p>Well, actually, if you want to get technical about it:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/244\/2012\/10\/Sandy-Frankenstorm-Effects-Map-includes-Ohio.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-21752\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/244\/2012\/10\/Sandy-Frankenstorm-Effects-Map-includes-Ohio.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"402\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Yes, the effects of Superstorm Sandy\u00a0<em>have\u00a0<\/em>been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cleveland.com\/metro\/index.ssf\/2012\/10\/superstorm_sandy_leaves_downed.html\" target=\"_blank\">felt in Ohio<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Hundreds of thousands of homes across Northeast Ohio were still without power this morning as high winds and rain from tropical rainstorm Sandy lashed a wide swath of the country, from Florida to Canada and as far west as Chicago.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And just for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.10tv.com\/content\/stories\/2012\/10\/30\/columbus-emergency-operations-center-power-outages.html\" target=\"_blank\">good measure<\/a>: \u201cThe state of Ohio is opening its emergency operations center after Superstorm Sandy left more than 250,000 people without power.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Representatives from the Red Cross have not yet responded to TheBlaze\u2019s request for comment regarding Mitchell\u2019s remarks, which you can see below:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theblaze.com\/stories\/ready-msnbc-anchor-makes-stunning-claim-while-criticizing-romneys-storm-volunteerism-red-cross-doesnt-want-or-need-your-donations\/\" target=\"_blank\">Read More: http:\/\/www.theblaze.com\/stories\/ready-msnbc-anchor-makes-stunning-claim-while-criticizing-romneys-storm-volunteerism-red-cross-doesnt-want-or-need-your-donations\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">FYI: I can personally attest to the fact that Sandy did damage in Ohio. Most of Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., Lake and Geauga Co. was without power yesterday and much of Ohio was too!\u00a0 My daughter was one of those without power.\u00a0 Not ONE of the local stations, including the biggest were able to broadcast, not ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, but, if you listened to Andrea Mitchell, Ohio wasn&#8217;t even harmed by Sandy.\u00a0 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">The biggest harm is the biased media<\/span>. They will all one day burn in hell for their crooked ways!\u00a0 There is just about nothing that tops the list of why there is so much corruption. The media does NOT do its job because it always lets the Democrats off easy and hates the Republicans. They are responsible for their own demise and why no one believes the liberal media anymore.
