Yesterday I posted a piece I wrote about \u201cAmerican Idol<\/a><\/strong>\u201d, that centered about the TV program, but shouldn\u2019t have, actually.\u00a0 What I really want to give you a WATCHWOMAN\u2019S HEADS UP<\/span><\/strong> about is \u201cAmerican Idolatry\u201d<\/strong><\/span>.\u00a0 \u201cAmerican Idolatry\u201d is running rampant in America today and has been for longer than I can honestly say I\u2019ve eye-to-eye, face-to-face witnessed history.<\/p>\n

Rudolph Valentino<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

For example, long before you or I were born Rudolph Valentino was an American Idol in the 1920\u2019s.\u00a0 That persona was created by Hollyweird media moguls who figured out how to market a human being.\u00a0 Now on the corner of a street near the cheap section of downtown Cleveland, that would be called prostitution.\u00a0 Well, it worked for Valentino\u2019s handlers and it\u2019s still working today.\u00a0 A \u201chooker\u201d by any name still sells the same.\u00a0 The Hollyweird media moguls are getting richer and richer day by day by marketing good-looking people with a flair that appeals to Kool-Aid drinkers.<\/p>\n

BTW, want to hear little sidebar \u2013 the name of the street that the hookers cruised was called Prospect Street in Cleveland.\u00a0 Now ain\u2019t that an odd coincidence?\u00a0 Wha\u2019cha think?\u00a0 I\u2019m thinkin\u2019 that even pimps have a wry sense of humor, aye?\u00a0 Or do ya think that\u2019s why they picked that street to display their wares?\u00a0 I don\u2019t know, but my mind just wonders, you know???<\/p>\n

Clara Bow, It-girl<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Hollyweird media moguls didn\u2019t only use men to appeal to women to get them tramping to the movies.\u00a0 They created the \u201cIt girl,\u201d long before anyone reading this was born.\u00a0 Clara Bow was the \u201cIt girl\u201d of 1927.\u00a0 Not only men ogled her, women wanted to emulate whatever \u201cit\u201d was in the Bow.\u00a0 According to the definition for \u201cit girl\u201d in Wikipedia, an \u201cIt girl\u201d or \u201cIt-girl\u201d is an attractive young woman who receives intense media coverage unrelated or disproportional to personal achievements.\u00a0 Can anyone say, \u201cHappy Birthday, Mr. President,\u201d as in the overly sexy, sultry, exposing cleavage to an amazing plunge, Marilyn<\/p>\n

Monroe a.k.a sweet, little\u2019ol Norma Jean \u2013 from the shy little girl next door to Hollyweird\u2019s newest sex bomb that made men\u2019s imaginations go far into the abyss of brain porn that took lusting in their hearts to a new low.\u00a0 Today, that term applies to Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan and scores of others like them.\u00a0 Other than appear in public making a fool of themselves high on booze and drugs, what has the lot of them done to achieve the intense media coverage they get?\u00a0 Fifty to sixty years ago, we could have said the same thing about the Gabor sisters, three air-heads wearing diamonds.<\/p>\n

Well, let\u2019s nail down a definition for Hollyweird media mogul.\u00a0 A slight variation on Wikipedia\u2019s entry, adding the word \u201cHollyweird\u201d, a Hollyweird media mogul is a person who controls, either through personal ownership or a dominant position, any media enterprise like Hollyweird.\u00a0 (Thank you, Wikipedia for an apt description.)<\/p>\n

Now that I\u2019ve highlighted some of Hollyweird\u2019s early idols, let\u2019s move on to the crooners\u2019 industry.\u00a0 There was Frank Sinatra, then Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Michael the-child-molester Jackson, and today every season a new one comes off the presses of the manufactured TV show, \u201cAmerican Idol.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then there\u2019s sports!\u00a0 OMG, when LeBron James left the Cleveland Cavaliers for warmer weather into the Miami Heat, I got so sick of hearing his name I wrote a local sports newscaster that the next time I heard him say \u201cLeBron James\u2019 \u201d I was going to puke on my TV screen!\u00a0 He put my letter on his news program!\u00a0 Yup!\u00a0 He did!\u00a0 I mean the heart of Clevelanders burst and people drinking potable Kool-Aid in the pubs of Cleveland were ready to cry tears of real red blood in the streets and jump out of the Terminal Tower on Public Square \u2013 giving a very sick meaning to the word \u201cterminal\u201d!<\/p>\n

How Jackie became Jackie O. He had enough money, he didn't need looks.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

But it\u2019s not only sports that have their idols.\u00a0 Who can forget \u201cJackie-O, JFK and Camelot?\u201d\u00a0 Well, those of you who weren\u2019t born then maybe don\u2019t remember, but every woman in America had to have a pill-box hat \u2013 and then it was huge sunglasses, just like Jackie O\u2019s (even after she hooked up with the richest, but the ugliest man in the world, Aristotle Onassis).\u00a0 Hence the added \u201cO\u201d to Jackie.<\/p>\n

We have experienced two Royal Weddings in my lifetime, covered ad nauseum, if you don\u2019t count Hollyweird\u2019s offering, Princess Grace Kelly.\u00a0 Of course, Diana\u2019s coverage was not harshly interrupted by the taking down of a world-widely known #1 mass murderer on the FBI\u2019s most wanted list of terrorists, Osama Bin Laden, by a team of Navy Seals.\u00a0 (Hoorah for the Navy!\u00a0 Now they are real heroes and are worthy of news coverage, but hopefully we\u2019ll never know their names.\u00a0 They are the unsung heroes who count.)<\/p>\n

BTW, Bin Laden in Muslim countries is an idol, you know.\u00a0 Maybe not, after all, you and I don\u2019t read \u201cAl-Jazeera Newspaper\u201d.<\/p>\n

Well, I\u2019ve covered a vast array of idols.\u00a0 Every generation and industry has had them and still do including the criminal industry:\u00a0 Think Al Capone, Bonnie and Clyde, John Dillinger, Jesse James, Rodney King (still<\/p>\n

getting convicted of crimes), Che Guevara, Mao.\u00a0 What you don\u2019t think Che Guevara and Mao belong to this group?\u00a0 Oh, yes they do!\u00a0 They are the criminal idols of the Karl Marx Klan of educrats; Bill Ayers, the little wife-not-at-home Mrs. Bernadine Dorn, and Communist Party Candidate and Black Panther, Angela Davis, all home-grown terrorists, now spoke of as just red-komrads for fun, teaching your kids at a cost to you of $40K a year while they steal your kids hearts, brainwashing their drug-dulled minds, filling their emptied head with commie mush propaganda turning them into hate-America \u2013 and the Kool-Aid drinking hip generation of parents continue to pay the college tuition with buckets of bucks like hovering saps!\u00a0 (Yeah, I know it\u2019s a run-on sentence \u2013 I think in run-on.\u00a0 Get used to it.)<\/p>\n

Yesterday I covered a little of what God has to say about having an idol.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow, I\u2019m going to continue with what God has to say about idolatry in the church and highlight some of those \u201cHeavenlyweird stars\u201d occupying American pulpits.\u00a0 (Hint: God has a lot to say!)\u00a0 Relax, I didn\u2019t misspeak, I meant it, \u201cHeavenlyweird\u201d just like I meant \u201cHollyweird.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
