WHAT DOES GOD’S WORD SAY?<\/strong><\/p>\n

[Genesis 12:3]\u00a0 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.<\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n

(God is speaking to Abram who will soon be renamed Abraham, and who will be the Father of Israel.\u00a0 God is telling Abram about how He, God Himself, is going to make a Great Nation that will be called Israel that forms from Abram’s descendents — therefore, “thee” in Genesis 12:3 is Israel.\u00a0 The Democrat Party should take note of God’s Covenant, those that curse Israel or betray them will be cursed, according to what God Promises Abraham.\u00a0 That apparently doesn’t mean anything to Obama and the Democrats.\u00a0 Why should it, they disregard everything else God’s Word says!\u00a0 If the Democrats wanted to be blessed by God, they wouldn’t be murdering unborn babies, they wouldn’t be turning our U.S. Military into a gang of sodomites and they wouldn’t be promoting communism, which is the religion of Satan.)<\/em> — Donna Calvin<\/strong><\/span>

Democratic Party Platform No Longer Pledges to Keep Jerusalem the Capital of Israel<\/h1>\n

The Democrat Party ran on a strong pro-Israel platform in 2008, and, though their actions<\/a> may indicate otherwise, the administration has repeatedly claimed it is Israel\u2019s strongest ally.<\/p>\n

That is, when they\u2019re not trying to play both sides<\/a> on whether or not Jerusalem is actually the country\u2019s capital.<\/p>\n

Back in July, TheBlaze\u2019s Billy Hallowell noted<\/a>\u00a0how drastically Obama\u2019s Israel rhetoric has changed from 2008 to 2012, and now the Democratic Party has seemingly embraced the changes as part of its official platform.<\/p>\n

In 2008, the Democrats clearly stated that Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and that Hamas must be isolated until it renounces terrorism and recognizes Israel\u2019s right to exist.<\/p>\n

Here is an excerpt, via<\/a> the Weekly Standard:<\/p>\n

The United States and its Quartet partners should continue to isolate Hamas until it renounces terrorism, recognizes Israel\u2019s right to exist, and abides by past agreements.<\/strong> \u2026 The creation of a Palestinian state through final status negotiations, together with an international compensation mechanism, should resolve the issue of Palestinian refugees by allowing them to settle there, rather than in Israel<\/strong>.\u00a0 All understand that it is unrealistic to expect the outcome of final status negotiations to be a full and complete return to the armistice lines of 1949.<\/strong>\u00a0 Jerusalem is and will remain the capital of Israel<\/strong>.\u00a0 The parties have agreed that Jerusalem is a matter for final status negotiations.\u00a0 It should remain an undivided city accessible to people of all faiths. But now?<\/p>\n

In its 2012 platform, the Democrat Party has removed all language referencing Israel\u2019s contentious capital, and no longer mentions Hamas.\u00a0 Instead, Democrats simply reiterate an \u201cunshakable\u201d commitment to Israel\u2019s security which, Israelis note<\/a>, would be nearly impossible if they complied with the president\u2019s stated positions.<\/p>\n

Here is the revised platform<\/a>, also via the Weekly Standard:<\/p>\n

President Obama and the Democratic Party maintain an unshakable commitment to Israel\u2019s security<\/strong>.\u00a0 A strong and secure Israel is vital to the United States not simply because we share strategic interests, but also because we share common values.\u00a0 For this reason, despite budgetary constraints, the President has worked with Congress to increase security assistance to Israel every single year since taking office, providing nearly $10 billion in the past three years.<\/strong>\u00a0 The administration has also worked to ensure Israel\u2019s qualitative military edge in the region.\u00a0 And we have deepened defense cooperation \u2013 including funding the Iron Dome system \u2013 to help Israel address its most pressing threats, including the growing danger posed by rockets and missiles emanating from the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, Syria, and Iran.\u00a0 The President\u2019s consistent support for Israel\u2019s right to defend itself and his steadfast opposition to any attempt to delegitimize Israel on the world stage are further evidence of our enduring commitment to Israel\u2019s security.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Critics note that providing billions in additional funding to Israel does not necessarily mean what it used to, since the region has become significantly less stable (partially due to our actions), and because we are also doling out billions<\/a> to Israel\u2019s potential aggressors.<\/p>\n

Others<\/a> simply ask why the language was removed.\u00a0 Hamas is an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood, which the administration now considers a valid negotiating partner in Egypt.\u00a0 Is it possible that the administration will consider legitimizing the recognized terrorist group Hamas, as well?<\/p>\n

Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin pointed out<\/a> that it is unlikely the mainstream media will investigate the change, despite their eagerness to brand the new Republican platform \u201cextreme.\u201d<\/p>\n

She wrote: \u201cThe Democrats, I am sure, will rush forward to say platforms are meaningless and Obama isn\u2019t obligated to abide by any of it. Aside from the egregious hypocrisy in coverage of the two platforms, you do have to wonder why it is so important to expressly downgrade language on Israel\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
