Todd Akin is running for the Senate Seat currently held by the Democrat Senator Claire McCaskill. Akin has enjoyed an ever widening poll lead over McCaskill until a gaffe moment made him out to be an uncaring male concerning the issue of rape and abortion.

Democrats jumped on Akin like flies on manure. That was to be expected from Leftist hypocrites. The irony has been is that many big dog Republicans including presumptive Republican Nominee for President Mitt Romney.

I am certain at the top of the list is Political Correctness and the ability of the Democratic Party to control (or at least manage) the Media talking points when it comes to Republicans, Tea Party Candidates and Social Conservatives. Establishment Republicans are ever concerned on the damage the Left Mainstream Media (MSM) can form in the mind of voters concerning image.

Next on the list of the Establishment sell-out of Akin is an actual Establishment Republican dislike of the ever growing Conservative wing of the GOP that primarily dedicated to Tea Party politics and Social Conservatism. In essence it is my belief the Establishment Republican power base are the Crony Capitalists that Tea Party Conservatives are weary of being associated.

These are my thoughts on why Akin’s own Republican Party has sold him out on a gaffe.

Rep. Todd Akin in his campaign to unseat Claire McCaskill from the Senate is a Pro-Life Social Conservative. He believes life begins at conception (as do I).

His thoughts on abortion and the right to life run so deep that he is in the crowd that rape should not be a reason for killing a baby (I waver back and forth on this issue). In explaining his Pro-Life stance he used the words “legitimate rape” in an interview. Of course there is no such thing as a legitimate rape.

.

.

.

Below are three WND articles that defend Rep. Todd Akin’s right to stick to his guns and continue to run for the Office of Senator from the State of Missouri based on his politics rather than a gaffe – really the first if not only gaffe in Akin’s campaign to unseat a Liberal Democratic Party Senator.

|||

TONY SALAZAR posted Advice Regarding Akin by

My advice, for what it’s worth, to conservatives and Republicans desperate to see Todd Akin off the ballot in Missouri: You’ve made your point. You’ve bewailed and denounced and threatened. Now it’s time to hearken to the words of Lincoln, in his great Temperance Address, delivered on Washington’s birthday in 1842 in Springfield, Illinois, addressing the fervent and fervid temperance advocates of his time—but also the fervent and fervid of all times:

When the conduct of men is designed to be influenced, persuasion, kind, unassuming persuasion, should ever be adopted. It is an old and a true maxim, that a “drop of honey catches more flies than a gallon of gall.” So with men. If you would win a man to your cause, first convince him that you are his sincere friend. Therein is a drop of honey that catches his heart, which, say what he will, is the great highroad to his reason, and which, when once gained, you will find but little trouble in convincing his judgment of the justice of your cause, if indeed that cause really be a just one. On the contrary, assume to dictate to his judgment, or to command his action, or to mark him as one to be shunned and despised, and he will retreat within himself, close all the avenues to his head and his heart; and though your cause be naked truth itself, transformed to the heaviest lance, harder than steel, and sharper than steel can be made, and though you throw it with more than Herculean force and precision, you shall be no more be able to pierce him, than to penetrate the hard shell of a tortoise with a rye straw.

Such is man, and so must he be understood by those who would lead him, even to his own best interest.

Such, it appears, is Todd Akin. He’s given plenty of indications he remains open to leaving the field. Now is the time for kind, unassuming—and private—persuasion by conservatives, by pro-life and pro-marriage advocates, by serious people who’ve worked with Akin and by his fellow Missourians. I have reason to believe that’s now beginning to happen behind the scenes. And I suspect that by the Democratic convention, by Labor Day, Akin will have stepped aside.

TONY SALAZAR also posted Democrats spent $1.5 mil to help Akin win GOP primary

Call it a wise investment in light of his recent comments: Democrats wanted Missouri Republican congressman Todd Akin to win his state’s hotly contested Senate GOP primary because they believed he gave incumbent Senator Claire McCaskill her best shot at retaining her seat. He was the most conservative candidate in the field — and the most unpredictable one. He shook up his campaign staff late last year. At moments like those, it’s time to make a heroic sacrifice, put yourself aside for the good of the team.

Unless you’re Rep. Todd Akin and you’ve just killed your campaign for the Senate against one of the most eminently beatable of foes, Claire McCaskill, in which case it’s time to drag down the entire Republican Party and possibly condemn the United States of America to a bleak socialist future.

How’s that for “stick-to-it-iveness”?

If this guy’s not already on the payroll, King Obama should send him a thank-you check.

By now you know the story of how Akin was asked the most obvious of questions that every pro-life politician is asked, “What about abortions in the case of rape?”

Instead of simply saying the obvious, that rape cases only make up 1 percent of all abortions so let’s talk about the other 99 percent, Akin had to demonstrate his ignorance of human biology and the psychology of rape in just about the most offensive way possible.

In Akin’s view, a “legitimate rape” apparently causes a woman to switch into superpower pregnancy shield mode, which one assumes is sort of like a truck transforming into Optimus Prime.

Perhaps there was a point somewhere in what Akin said, but unfortunately the only point that was made obvious by his comments is the one on his head.

First effect of Akin’s comments: Kiss his chances for winning his race goodbye.

Second effect of Akin’s comments: GOP could lose the Senate, which was within its grasp.

Third effect of Akin’s comments: Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan could lose the presidential race in the wake of negative publicity.

Fourth effect of Akin’s comments: You and I could find ourselves waiting in long lines for a loaf of bread under the watchful eyes of Big BO as America becomes yet another Third World socialist nation.

Obama must just be laughing himself to sleep these days. Not only has Akin put a bow on the Democrats’ “War on Women” theme, but by refusing to drop out for the good of the country, he is transforming the image of his entire party.

Obama’s gotten this far into the campaign without discussing anything more substantive than that Mitt Romney is rich. Obama’s re-election strategy has been all about distraction, and Akin has handed him a huge one.

If there are just two functioning brain cells in the Obama camp, they’ve already filmed the commercial featuring Akin repeating his comment and then a picture of Obama with his best winner’s smile and just saying, “Really?” Close with the Obama logo. He continued that God wasn't important, wasn't real, and our parents just used God to impose restrictions on us because they were inadequate to parent effectively. I knew then I was going to be involved in a war and that I would have to be in Jesus Christ's Army. Even then, I knew the United States of America would cease to exist without the vast majority of its citizens voluntarily submitting to the Perfect and Good Laws of the Holy Bible. I am a woman who loves the Lord Jesus Christ. I am tired of seeing our LORD denigrated from the school house to the White House. I search the Internet for items that ought to serve as a warning to Americans and Christians all through America, but the nation seems to be sleeping. Wake up America! You are losing your freedoms, your children and your country. Wake up and help stop it!
["GET
