The Wikipedia article where I got some of the information included \u201cForward (Obama-Biden Campaign Slogan)\u201d and the use of \u201cForward\u201d by numerous socialist and communist groups. The reference to \u201cgeneric name of socialist publications\u201d has been removed (PDF of original \u201cForward\u201d Wikipedia page here<\/a>. A BIG \u2018thank you\u2019 to loyal reader Ken for sending this to us). Now the Wiki article<\/a> includes this message:<\/p>\n

The Progressives adopted the slogan \u201cForward\u201d a long time ago. For example, there was the campaign slogan and poster \u201cForward with Roosevelt<\/a>\u201d (1936) and P.J. O\u2019Brien\u2019s book title of the same name. The arguments for Roosevelt\u2019s new programs were borrowed from the socialist policies of the German Chancellor Otto Von Bismarck. The National Socialists in Germany also used Bismarck\u2019s social theories for the construction of their social security system. Hitler remarks in Mein Kampf<\/em>, \u201cI studied Bismarck\u2019s socialist legislation in its intention, struggle and success.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bismarck said that \u201cthe State must take the matter in hand, since the State can most easily supply the requisite funds. It must provide them not as alms but in fulfillment of the workers\u2019 right to look to the State where their own good will can achieve nothing more.\u201d Roosevelt and his admirers agreed. O\u2019Brien, writing in Forward with Roosevelt<\/em>, links Bismarck\u2019s social policies with those of Roosevelt: \u201c[The quotation by Bismarck] might have been lifted out of a speech by President Roosevelt in 1936, but the Iron Chancellor uttered it in 1871.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHope and Change\u201d was the campaign slogan of President Obama\u2019s 2008 campaign. The 2012 campaign moniker is \u201cForward.\u201d Many Americans would add \u201c. . . Off a Cliff.\u201d Obama\u2019s colors may be showing . . . the color red. Fox News<\/a> reports the following:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Obama campaign apparently didn\u2019t look backwards into history when selecting its new campaign slogan, \u2018Forward\u2019 \u2014 a word with a long and rich association with European Marxism.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany Communist and radical publications and entities throughout the 19th and 20th centuries had the name \u2018Forward!\u2019 or its foreign cognates. Wikipedia has an entire section called \u2018Forward (generic name of socialist publications).\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cThe name Forward carries a special meaning in socialist political terminology. It has been frequently used as a name for socialist, communist and other left-wing newspapers and publications,\u2019 the online encyclopedia explains.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe slogan \u2018Forward!\u2019 reflected the conviction of European Marxists and radicals that their movements reflected the march of history, which would move forward past capitalism and into socialism and communism.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The radical left-wing publication Vorwaerts<\/em> (the German word for \u201cForward\u201d) was a clearing house for\u00a0German revolutionary socialist groups. Karl Marx began to write for it in 1844.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Great Leap Forward\u2019 was an economic and social campaign of the Communist Party of China led by Mao Zedong.<\/p>\n

I suspect that President Obama\u2019s handlers will link the \u201cForward\u201d campaign slogan to Roosevelt and dismiss the Marxist links. \u201cIf it was good enough for FDR,\u201d they\u2019ll probably say, \u201cthen it\u2019s good enough for BHO.\u201d<\/p>\n

President Obama\u2019s former associates and intellectual mentors \u2013 from Saul Alinsky and Bill Ayers to Derrick Bell and Frank Marshall Davis and his own father and mother \u2014 were Marxists of one kind or another.<\/p>\n

Then there is Anita Dunn, a political strategist who served as White House Communications Director from April through November 2009 with the Obama administration. She said the following in 2009:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe third lesson and tip actually comes from two of my favorite political philosophers: Mao Tse-tung and Mother Theresa \u2014 not often coupled with each other, but the two people I turn to most to basically deliver a simple point which is \u2018you\u2019re going to make choices; you\u2019re going to challenge; you\u2019re going to say why not; you\u2019re going to figure out how to do things that have never been done before.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course, when Dunn was criticized for claiming the mass murdering dictator as one of her \u201cpolitical heroes,\u201d like so many liberals, she said stated that her reference was meant to be \u201cironic\u201d and that she borrowed the quotation from Republican strategist Lee Atwater (1951\u20131991). Like her boss at the time, she blamed Bush, that is, George H. W. Bush since Atwater was an advisor to the elder Bush and Chairman of the Republican National Committee.<\/p>\n

Can you imagine what would have happened if someone in either Bush administration had said that Adolf Hitler was one of his heroes and then used the excuse that he was only being \u201cironic\u201d?<\/p>\n

If President Obama is re-elected, the social and economic forces of Marxism will be unleashed because he will no longer have to worry about the next election. Four more years of this committed Marxist could do irreparable harm to our economy and institutions.<\/p>\n
