WATCHWOMAN VITAL REPORT! – <\/span><\/strong>Did you know that a<\/span> medical marijuana proposal was recently introduced in the Ohio House? This legalization of marijuana has been placed on the Ohio ballot at least twice in the past and it’s been defeated both times. Apparently billionaire\u00a0Peter Lewis (Progressive Insurance) isn’t satisfied with Ohioans who voted it down repeatedly. He has the money and he’s going to spend it on getting marijuana legalized in Ohio regardless \u00a0of the will of the people who have already expressed a firm no. \u00a0Once, standing in line to vote, the scraggly, emaciated man in the line in front of me said, “I’m only here to vote for the legalization of marijuana. \u00a0I don’t care about anything else.” \u00a0I wasn’t impressed with this man’s appearance or smell. \u00a0Based on my “profiling ability” he didn’t look like or smell like he was interested in anything concerned with politics in Ohio and only interested in getting out of the process quickly, so he could resort to smoking a joint as quickly as possible back in the privacy of his car or whatever means of\u00a0transportation\u00a0that brought him there. \u00a0\u25ac \u00a0Donna Calvin<\/strong><\/p>\n

Billionaire Peter Lewis floating marijuana ballot issue<\/h1>\n

\"\"One of the biggest backers of medical marijuana in the country, Peter Lewis is seeking proposals to conduct a ballot initiative campaign to legalize marijuana for medical use in Ohio.<\/p>\n

Fifteen states, according to the request for proposals, have made marijuana legal for qualified patients, most through the passage of similar voter initiatives. The first was California in 1996.<\/p>\n

Now Lewis is considering pushing it through in his home state of Ohio. That\u2019s where Progressive (nyse: PGR), the auto insurer founded by his father and run by Lewis for many years, is headquartered. Lewis, who now spends much of his time in Florida, gave up his CEO role in 2000 but remains chairman. About 90% of his net worth is held in shares of Progressive.<\/p>\n
