For Obama, it may become a case in point, as the Supreme Court will probably use his own words against him in regard to the ObamaCare \u201cindividual mandate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As the Daily Mail (UK) <a href=\"http:\/\/harndenblog.dailymail.co.uk\/2012\/03\/supreme-irony-obamacare.html\" target=\"_blank\">reports<\/a>, Obama made the criticism during the 2008 primaries, when HillaryCare proposed an individual mandate, but at the time, Obama\u2019s proposal did not:<\/p>\n<p>At issue today was the so-called \u2018individual mandate\u201d \u2013 the federal government\u2019s act of compelling Americans to buy health insurance. It is the centrepiece of the Affordable Health Care Act \u2013 aka Obamacare \u2013 which is the signature achievement of Obama\u2019s presidency thus far.<\/p>\n<p>But back during the 2008 campaign, Obama argued strenuously against the individual mandate. In a debate in South Carolina, he said: \u201cA mandate means that in some fashion, everybody will be forced to buy health insurance. \u2026 But I believe the problem is not that folks are trying to avoid getting health care. The problem is they can\u2019t afford it.
