Watchwoman:<\/strong><\/span> Because I’ve gotten some foolish comments about my post (\u00a0 http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/watchwomanonthewall\/?p=12125<\/a>\u00a0 ) that I skipped Obama’s Tuesday, January 24, 2012, fundraising, tickle-the-ears-of-the-yellow-dog-dems, pro-Marxist, social engineering, anti-free-market, raise all our taxes, social justice, campaign speech, that we’ve all heard in a few other January’s past (ho-hum); therefore, I felt obligated, I mean, what else could I do, but respond … so … here’s five things that the obamanation is attempting to foist upon us Americans — that we don’t need because they are continuing the same left-winged failed agenda that he’s been slithering around with, that are just more harmful, leading to the next Unstable Union Address — unless, hopefully and prayerfully the voters fire him in November, 2012.\u00a0 The problem with his obamanation is that he is so full of radical community organizing gunk, i.e. Saul Alinsky, that it’s hard to tell them apart.\u00a0 Now come along with me and move from the left-winged obamanation posture, and come on over with me to the right side of the nation and take note how these young college Republicans write!\u00a0 Enjoy their five refreshing ideas about the lefties!\u00a0 It’s like seeing a colorful springtime landscape in the middle of a foggy, bleak, half-melted black snow sleeting winter’s day! If bad ideas were jobs President Obama would have just solved the unemployment crisis. Sadly, they\u2019re not. They\u2019re just bad ideas, which means unemployment is staying high and Republicans have their work cut out for them.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s our Top 5 Bad Ideas from the 2012 State of the Union, let us know what we missed in the comments below.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"5. Financial Crimes Unit:<\/strong> In what sounds like a rejected plot for a CBS procedural (Law & Order: Financial Crimes Unit *dun*dun*), Obama promised to create a unit of \u201chighly trained investigators to crack down on large-scale fraud.\u201d Not necessarily a bad idea, just completely redundant. Has he already forgotten the speech he gave in 2009 when he created the \u201cFinancial Fraud Enforcement Task Force\u201d to \u201chold accountable those who helped bring about the last financial crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n

Obama is growing the federal government so fast that not even he can keep up with all the programs he\u2019s creating.<\/p>\n

4. Stopping Non-Existent Business Tax Breaks<\/strong>: One of President Obama\u2019s most mentioned phrases were mysterious tax breaks for \u201cbusinesses that ship jobs overseas.\u201d But what the heck is he talking about. We know Washington is not exactly a wizard (see what I did there?) when it comes to tax policy, but does anyone really think they created a tax break for outsourcing?<\/p>\n

As Shikha Dalmia wrote<\/a> for Reason, \u201cThe truth is that not even Mitt Romney\u2019s tax accountant could get him a tax write off for moving jobs to Bangalore. So what in the name of Warren Buffet\u2019s secretary could Obama possibly mean?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear, but we think Obama was trying to get at the fact that American companies don\u2019t pay taxes until they bring their profits back to our shores \u2013 a necessary outgrowth of our outmoded corporate tax structure. But the answer isn\u2019t to make it more complicated. The solution is to simplify in a way that cleans out loopholes and lowers rates.<\/p>\n

\"\"3. More Green Energy Tax Credits\u2026Because Solyndra Worked Out Great!<\/strong> This President just can\u2019t get enough green energy. He\u2019s like the guy who just got dumped but refuses to admit it to himself. He keeps texting. He sends flowers. He stands outside with a boombox playing \u201cIn Your Eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n

But seriously, since 2007 total federal energy subsidies have increased from $17.9 billion to $37.2 billion \u2013 the vast majority of which have gone toward \u201cgreen\u201d sources. Companies are literally just filling the desert<\/a> with solar panels in an effort to spend everything Washington is willing to give them.<\/p>\n

And yet Obama wants to give out more. Expect to see more Solyndra\u2019s in our future. Oh wait, we already have<\/a>.<\/p>\n

2. De-Richifying the Rich<\/strong>: Last night President Obama proposed the latest, and most fleshed out, version of the \u201cBuffet Rule.\u201d The plan would require all individuals who earn at least $1 million to pay an effective tax rate of no less than 30 percent.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s ignore the fact that according to the CBO, the top 1 percent already pay 30 percent<\/a> of their income in taxes. Let\u2019s set aside the fact that the lower capital gains rate (which is already going up under Obamacare) is double taxed corporate income. And of course let\u2019s forget that even if we took half the annual income of everyone making between one and ten million dollars and every last penny of those who make more, we\u2019ll still only decrease the nation\u2019s debt by around 3 percent<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Even if you ignore all of that, it still wouldn\u2019t come close to paying for Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid without reforms\u2026and it\u2019s not even close<\/a>.<\/p>\n

1. You WILL Buy Clean Energy, And You\u2019ll Like It: <\/strong>For the second State of the Union in a row the President has proposed a \u201cclean energy standard\u201d which would set a minimum level of energy output that would have to come from clean sources. Not exactly a move befitting a supposed free-market, but hey, it\u2019s become pretty clear nothing will stand in the way between Obama and his green energy girlfriend.<\/p>\n

You see, Obama has been doing his best to pump taxpayer-financed subsidies into green energy companies, but they still can\u2019t produce energy cheaply and efficiently enough to compete in the marketplace.<\/p>\n

Rather than give up, admit that the private sector is probably better at this whole investment thing, and go home, Obama is planning on creating a market for green energy out of thin air. Sure it will mean higher energy prices for consumers, more taxes for taxpayers, and yet another step in the march towards a command and control economy. But hey, he\u2019ll be that much closer to fulfilling his campaign pledge to \u201ccreate\u201d 5 million green jobs. Only about 4.95 million left to go!<\/p>\n
