Psalm 2:  “Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot in vain” against God and His Anointed?

Because they hate being told that they are sinful. They hate having someone else telling them what to do and who to be. They hate not being in control of their own lives. They hate submitting to someone else.

They’re not that much different than me. I don’t like being told what to do or be, either. It’s difficult to submit myself.  It doesn’t come naturally. I want to be in control.

Seems kind of silly, doesn’t it? Rebellion against the Almighty God, who not only holds ALL the power, but who holds ME so dear that He gives me life through His own Son’s death.  I’m like a child, throwing a tantrum, kicking and screaming, because I can’t play with the knife or run into the street or eat the rat poison.

God forgive me for my stupidity.  And, God, many thanks for the last line of this psalm:  “Blessed are all who take refuge in Him.” There is still hope for me.
