Unfortunately, not as much had changed in the world as we may have hoped for when &#8220;All in the Family&#8221; first aired. (It is now on reruns and still surprisingly relevant.)<\/p>\n<p>So I don\u2019t have a problem with Borat, but I understand why the Khazakhs do, because he exposes the ugly side of otherwise respectful society in high contrast, much as Archie Bunker did a generation back.<\/p>\n<p>Even the best of us carry <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/story\/80\/story_8061_1.html\">stereotypes <\/a>around in our heads, and not only in our heads. A visit to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.museumoftolerance.com\/site\/c.juLVJ8MRKtH\/b.1580483\/k.BE32\/Home.htm\">Simon Weisenthal Center\u2019s Museum of Tolerance<\/a> is one eye-opener about the degree to which stereotyping is part of everyone\u2019s assumptions and interactions. No one is immune.
