Given that the First Reading concerned God&#8217;s use of the Persian King Cyrus to do His will and that the Gospel was the &#8220;render unto Caesar&#8221; passage from Matthew, I wondered if any preachers (Catholic or not &#8211; since the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.textweek.com\/yeara\/propera24.htm\" target=\"_blank\"> Gospel was the same in the common lectionary)<\/a> out there made political references in their homilies\/sermons.<br \/>\nAnd if there&#8217;s any overwhelming, obvious political climate in your church these days..pass that along, too.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I decided to resurrect this feature because of the readings and the proximity to the election. Amy has five children, ranging in age from 26 to 4 and was married to Michael Dubruiel, who died unexpectedly in February 2009.
