I decided to resurrect this feature because of the readings <\/a>and the proximity to the election. Given that the First Reading concerned God’s use of the Persian King Cyrus to do His will and that the Gospel was the “render unto Caesar” passage from Matthew, I wondered if any preachers (Catholic or not – since the Gospel was the same in the common lectionary)<\/a> out there made political references in their homilies\/sermons.
