As part of his desire to better the neighborhood, Angi became a volunteer probation officer for the Hamilton County courts system.<\/p>\n

About six people on probation, all of them neighborhood residents, report to him at his sparsely furnished office on West Eighth Street. <\/p>\n

He does the same things a paid probation officer does — in some cases asking a judge to revoke a person’s probation. <\/p>\n

Since his charges live nearby, he sees them regularly, and he can keep a better eye on them than an officer with an office downtown might. <\/p>\n
