She chuckled, remembering parties in the ornate, wood-paneled basement bar and billiards room; proudly patted the antique sewing machines where the sisters once stitched together hospital gowns for a local textile company; smiled, remembering the bingo games, naps and spiritual support of the convent – “Our powerhouse of prayer,” as Sheedy described it.<\/p>\n

But one thing she will remember most about Marycrest is, “Oh, my gosh, the love that was given to the children and to the sisters,” Sheedy said. <\/p>\n

Amy has five children, ranging in age from 26 to 4 and was married to Michael Dubruiel, who died unexpectedly in February 2009.
