{"id":7521,"date":"2004-04-10T22:57:06","date_gmt":"2004-04-10T22:57:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/viamedia\/2004\/04\/is_there_anyone_who_is.html"},"modified":"2004-04-10T22:57:06","modified_gmt":"2004-04-10T22:57:06","slug":"is_there_anyone_who_is","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/viamedia\/2004\/04\/is_there_anyone_who_is.html","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Is there anyone who is a devout lover of God?<br \/>\nLet them enjoy this beautiful bright festival!<br \/>\nIs there anyone who is a grateful servant?<br \/>\nLet them rejoice and enter into the joy of their Lord!<\/p>\n<p>Are there any weary with fasting? <br \/>\nLet them now receive their wages!<br \/>\nIf any have toiled from the first hour, <br \/>\nlet them receive their due reward;<br \/>\nIf any have come after the third hour, <br \/>\nlet him with gratitude join in the Feast!<br \/>\nAnd he that arrived after the sixth hour, <br \/>\nlet him not doubt; for he too shall sustain no loss.<br \/>\nAnd if any delayed until the ninth hour, <br \/>\nlet him not hesitate; but let him come too.<br \/>\nAnd he who arrived only at the eleventh hour, <br \/>\nlet him not be afraid by reason of his delay.<\/p>\n<p>For the Lord is gracious and receives the last even as the first.<br \/>\nHe gives rest to him that comes at the eleventh hour, <br \/>\nas well as to him that toiled from the first.<br \/>\nTo this one He gives, and upon another He bestows.<br \/>\nHe accepts the works as He greets the endeavor.<br \/>\nThe deed He honors and the intention He commends.<\/p>\n<p>Let us all enter into the joy of the Lord! <br \/>\nFirst and last alike receive your reward; <br \/>\nrich and poor, rejoice together!<br \/>\nSober and slothful, celebrate the day!<\/p>\n<p>You that have kept the fast, and you that have not, <br \/>\nrejoice today for the Table is richly laden!<br \/>\nFeast royally on it, the calf is a fatted one.<br \/>\nLet no one go away hungry. Partake, all, of the cup of faith.<br \/>\nEnjoy all the riches of His goodness!<\/p>\n<p>Let no one grieve at his poverty, <br \/>\nfor the universal kingdom has been revealed.<br \/>\nLet no one mourn that he has fallen again and again; <br \/>\nfor forgiveness has risen from the grave.<br \/>\nLet no one fear death, for the Death of our Savior has set us free.<br \/>\nHe has destroyed it by enduring it.<\/p>\n<p>He destroyed Hades when He descended into it.<br \/>\nHe put it into an uproar even as it tasted of His flesh.<br \/>\nIsaiah foretold this when he said,<br \/>\n&#8220;You, O Hell, have been troubled by encountering Him below.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Hell was in an uproar because it was done away with.<br \/>\nIt was in an uproar because it is mocked.<br \/>\nIt was in an uproar, for it is destroyed.<br \/>\nIt is in an uproar, for it is annihilated.<br \/>\nIt is in an uproar, for it is now made captive.<br \/>\nHell took a body, and discovered God. <br \/>\nIt took earth, and encountered Heaven.<br \/>\nIt took what it saw, and was overcome by what it did not see.<br \/>\nO death, where is thy sting?<br \/>\nO Hades, where is thy victory?<\/p>\n<p>Christ is Risen, and you, o death, are annihilated!<br \/>\nChrist is Risen, and the evil ones are cast down!<br \/>\nChrist is Risen, and the angels rejoice!<br \/>\nChrist is Risen, and life is liberated!<br \/>\nChrist is Risen, and the tomb is emptied of its dead;<br \/>\nfor Christ having risen from the dead,<br \/>\nis become the first-fruits of those who have fallen asleep.<\/p>\n<p>To Him be Glory and Power forever and ever.
