\nAfter pressure from pro-choice activists, who
\nvehemently disagree with the assertion that life
\nbegins at conception, Stephanie Cutter, a Kerry
\nspokeswoman, reiterated her candidate’s convictions.
\nKerry, she says, has “always said he doesn’t believe
\nin abortion, but these are his convictions that he
\ncan’t enforce on others. He’s pro-choice and believes
\nthat abortion should be safe, legal and rare.” <\/p>\n

Cutter might not be aware of this, but every time
\nKerry votes on a bill that passes into law, he is
\nimposing his convictions on a large number of
\nAmericans. What difference does it make if the
\nconvictions driving those votes are derived from
\nideology or theology? <\/p>\n

And by voting against parental notification for
\nteenage abortions, the Laci Peterson law and the
\npartial-birth abortion ban, Kerry has protected
