\nI’m going to emphasize again the beauty of the Pope’s words to youth in Genoa. After the portion I quoted below, he went on to encourage the young people to grow in their understanding of faith, pointing out that they are plunging into important discussions with all kinds of people about the things that matter most – and they need to be ready.
\nBut it was this brief passage that really struck me. It is, it seems to me, a concise expression of Benedict as a thinker and as Pope, and a striking invitation, not just to young people…but all of us:
