No, just my ignorance &#8211; it&#8217;s the UP of Michigan.<\/p>\n<p>Well, they have a new bishop!<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Appointed Fr. Alexander King Sample of the clergy of Marquette, U.S.A., diocesan chancellor, as bishop of the same diocese (area 42,152, population 317,616, Catholics 68,360, priests 100, permanent deacons 28, religious 70). The bishop-elect was born in Kalispell, U.S.A. in 1960 and ordained as a priest in 1990. He succeeds Bishop James Henry Garland, whose resignation from the pastoral care of the same diocese, the Holy Father accepted, in accordance with canon 401 para. 2 of the Code of Canon Law.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The pertinent canon:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">A diocesan bishop who, because of illness or some other grave reason, has become unsuited for the fulfillment of his office, is earnestly requested to offer his resignation from office.&quot; <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The bishop was born in 1931, just one year away from official retirement age. Amy has five children, ranging in age from 26 to 4 and was married to Michael Dubruiel, who died unexpectedly in February 2009.
