There’s some commentary out there about Prince Caspian’s <\/em>“disappointing” box office – <\/a>…well, you know what I think?
\nI think gas is $4\/gallon.
\nAnd when taking a family to the movies – and this is a “family” movie – is going to cost you at leat $6.50 a ticket (matinee prices in Fort Wayne – it’s probably more expensive elsewhere), plus your scandalously-priced snacks…well, while you were never thrilled about that in the first place, the fact that in now costs you at least $50 to fill up your gas tank, and most of your driving is probably not optional…you make some choices.
\nI’m really wondering if one of the (many) places we’re going to see the impact of high gas prices this summer is on things like sales of movie tickets, especially if there’s more than one of you going. You might have thought twice about it before. Now you’re probably going to think three times. At least.
\nWhich brings to mind…how have these gas prices affected your life? Well, besides driving up the costs of various goods – how have they affected you directly? I’m curious. My driving is, thankfully, pretty circumscribed. Everything except the piano lesson is within about a 3-mile radius. (Michael’s a different story, considering he has to drive 20+ miles to work). So, no, I don’t like it, but it’s really not impacting my personal habits that much, since I don’t drive great distances.
\nWhat about you? Is it affecting your summer plans? Daily habits?
\n(Believe me, I have more thoughts than this…I am not one to claim that gas prices are still <\/em>too low because gee, we spend less than Europeans, and what folks like that don’t understand is that high oil prices will drive up the prices on practically everything, \u00a0making it more difficult for people barely getting by anyway to, well, get by.
