This semester at (State U. X.) I am taking a class, "Enlightenment and Modern World".<\/em><\/div>\n
<\/em><\/div>\n
Because of some comments my professor has made, implicitly equating the pre-Enlightenment period with "fanaticism" and inquisitions. I was wondering if either you or your readers know the following, and could document it:<\/em><\/div>\n
<\/em><\/div>\n
1) Approximately how many Catholics were martyred by the French Revolutionaries?<\/em><\/div>\n
<\/em><\/div>\n
2) How many people were murdered by the Inquisition in France during all its years’ (centuries’?) existence?<\/em><\/div>\n

Amy has written columns for Our Sunday Visitor and Catholic News Service at times over the past twenty years. Her articles have been published in venues ranging from Our Sunday Visitor to the New York Times to Commonweal. She has written 17 books. 18, if you included the as yet tragically unpublished novel. Amy has five children, ranging in age from 26 to 4 and was married to Michael Dubruiel, who died unexpectedly in February 2009.
