A couple of notes:<\/p>\n

But I think it is worth watching, even if you don’t speak German, to get a sense of the Pope’s demeanor as he speaks. <\/p>\n

Fr. Stephanus, O.S.B. points us to the crucifix being used in today’s Mass in Munich – <\/a>it dates to 890, and is the oldest life-sized crucifix in the world.<\/a><\/p>\n

As per usual, the Pope chatted a bit with reporters on the plane. A German journalist reports:<\/a><\/p>\n

Are you planning other trips to Germany, for instance to Berlin?<\/strong> <\/p>\n

I have probably heard it said somewhere that if one travels to Munich, one must also go to Berlin. But I am an old man. I do not know how much more time the Lord will give me. If I come back another time to Germany, then it will be to visit other parts \u2013 I would be very happy to do that. I would consider it a gift from God. <\/p>\n

You have not been in Bavaria for quite some time, Holy Father. Have you felt homesick?<\/strong> <\/p>\n

There are so many memories in my heart that I can always wander about in the landscape of memories. And I don\u2019t feel myself all that distant, every time I speak to my brother on the telephone. So no, I don\u2019t really feel too bad. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n
