I saw this headline in the AZ Republic<\/em>, and I thought…this is newsworthy…why?<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

35 people confirmed as Roman Catholics in Latin rite<\/em> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n

But then I saw…ah…the story is about celebration of the sacrament (for 35 people, ages 9-17) at the Mater Misericordiae Traditional Mission in Phoenix (Bishop Olmstead’s see) .<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

A mission in which, incindentally, all the sacraments are celebrated according to the 1962 Missal. No to be confused with another kerfuffle from the Southwest from about 6 weeks ago in which it was reported that the Traditional mission in Santa Fe was forbidden by Archbishop Sheehan from celebrating weddings.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

It was quite good – a reflection of the meaning of the resurrected body and the implications for that for our understanding and valuation of the human person, from conception to natural death. <\/span><\/p>\n
