No to be confused with another kerfuffle from the Southwest from about 6 weeks ago in which <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bettnet.com\/blog\/index.php\/weblog\/comments\/no_weddings_at_tridentine_mass_church\/\">it was reported that the Traditional mission in Santa Fe was forbidden by Archbishop Sheehan from celebrating weddings.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"h2hed\">In other similar news, a correspondent writes from Detroit:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"h2hed\"><em>Wanted to let you know that Cardinal Maida of the Archdiocese of Detroit has granted the Tridentine Community at St. Josaphat permission to hold masses according to the missal of 1962 on Holy Days, our pastor Fr. Mark Borkowski told us during Sunday&#8217;s sermon that he has this in writing.<\/em> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"h2hed\">By the way, I heard Bishop Olmstead preach a few days ago &#8211; at the <em>very <\/em>early morning Pro-Life Mass at the conference. Hey, I heard most of it. Enough to give an opinion. It was quite good &#8211; a reflection of the meaning of the resurrected body and the implications for that for our understanding and valuation of the human person, from conception to natural death. <\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"h2hed\">I heard a couple of other prelates preach over the past few days, as well. Bishop Olmstead had the most to say. And the rest is silence.
