Roberts Jr. through his committee without a scratch. They also are pleased with the hearings for Judge Samuel A. Alito Jr., who is widely expected to be confirmed this month. <br \/>&nbsp; &nbsp; The most widely replayed exchange from the Alito hearings last week was between Mr. Specter and Sen. Edward M.
