When you finally hit it big, even though it seems out of the blue, the humble new star in the firmament will declare &quot;there&#8217;s no such thing as an overnight success&#8230;&quot; <\/p>\n<p>And so, after a lifetime of playing bumblebees, monkeys and Oompa-Loompas, we are proud to announce that Miss Catherine has been awarded the part of Rosie, one of the female leads in the 8th grade production of <em>Bye-Bye Birdie<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>(The lovelorn secretary to Conrad Birdie&#8217;s agent, in case you&#8217;re trying to remember. Janet Leigh played her in the movie.)<\/p>\n<p>We were all surprised for various reasons, but pleased. She&#8217;ll be gone for about a week, of course, but they&#8217;ll work around that. This also puts a stop to her low-grade mumbling about missing the auditions for <em>Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, Not Very Good Day&nbsp; &nbsp; <\/em>the spring Youtheathre production &#8211; because of our trip. So there&#8217;s yet another blessing.<\/p>\n<p>And 8th graders doing <em>Bye-Bye Birdie?<\/em> I can&#8217;t quite imagine it either. Amy has five children, ranging in age from 26 to 4 and was married to Michael Dubruiel, who died unexpectedly in February 2009.
