And so, after a lifetime of playing bumblebees, monkeys and Oompa-Loompas, we are proud to announce that Miss Catherine has been awarded the part of Rosie, one of the female leads in the 8th grade production of Bye-Bye Birdie<\/em>.<\/p>\n (The lovelorn secretary to Conrad Birdie’s agent, in case you’re trying to remember. Janet Leigh played her in the movie.)<\/p>\n We were all surprised for various reasons, but pleased. She’ll be gone for about a week, of course, but they’ll work around that. This also puts a stop to her low-grade mumbling about missing the auditions for Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, Not Very Good Day <\/em>the spring Youtheathre production – because of our trip. So there’s yet another blessing.<\/p>\n And 8th graders doing Bye-Bye Birdie?<\/em> I can’t quite imagine it either.
