Even in my mostly-white parish, a devotional talk
about Our Lady of Guadelupe connected the image of
Guadelupe to political movements, especially Cesar
Chavez.  I wonder how the enforcement agencies could
have been so ignorant to schedule their raid for a day
that would generate more than usual tension, political
opposition, and bad press.  One of those affected is
