{"id":3932,"date":"2005-08-13T00:31:03","date_gmt":"2005-08-13T00:31:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/viamedia\/2005\/08\/remember-2.html"},"modified":"2005-08-13T00:31:03","modified_gmt":"2005-08-13T00:31:03","slug":"remember-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/viamedia\/2005\/08\/remember-2.html","title":{"rendered":"Remember&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">&#8230;everyone is fighting a great battle&#8230;This from a reader who hopes for our prayers for this family:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Our good friends, the Browns, are going through the crucible right now.I&#8217;m sure you remember, the Browns are a family that converted in themid-90&#8217;s en masse from the Presbyterian Church of America.&nbsp; Bruce andBarbara were guests on &quot;The Journey Home&quot; with Marcus Grodi in &#8217;98.Zach, their 19 year old (they also have a 24 yr old son, Josh, and a 22yr old daughter, Anna Grace), is the co-sponsor of the blog spot that I sent you a link to a while back (the one you forwarded to Amy Welborn).<\/p>\n<p>At any rate,&#8230; Barbara has been diagnosed with acute (Stage IV)melanoma.&nbsp; The best that the doctors are giving her is 15% survival rate (after 7 years) and they tell her that she likely will not make it past Christmas. :o(&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Bruce and Barbara are hard core Catholics now &#8230; and they have a strong faith community in their Atlanta parish and our Chatt Cath Homeschoolers.&nbsp; Still, it is a tough situation.&nbsp; Barbara has, of course, decided to fight with all she has but it is going to be hell at best, even if she survives.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>To further complicate,&#8230; Zach recently received a music scholarship and is supposed to start his first semester.&nbsp; That may be on hold.&nbsp; And,&#8230;. He has been diagnosed with an &quot;atypical&quot; mole on his back and has what appears to be subtle lesions.&nbsp; I pray that he not have melanoma as well.<\/p>\n<p>Also,&#8230; Bruce recently had a minor heart attack (due to stress).<br \/>Needless to say the Browns need your fervent prayers.&nbsp;
