This morning, the Vatican published decrees affirming miracles and martyrdoms of various blesseds and venerables. <\/a>Primarily European, it appears, with a couple of Brazilians. It will, as it always is, be interesting to learn more about them as their causes progress.<\/p>\n

In addition, the new Archbishop of Toronto was announced: Archbishop Thomas Collins, presently Archbishop of Edmonton.<\/a><\/p>\n

Responding to his appointment, Archbishop Collins remarked:<\/p>\n

Archbishop Collins, born in Guelph, Ontario, was ordained a priest in 1973. He was named Bishop in 1997 and appointed Archbishop of Edmonton in 1999.
