Here I am, behind the statues of the saints, looking out over the gathering crowd in St. Peter&#8217;s Square in front of the spectacular facade of the basilica.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vatican.va\/holy_father\/benedict_xvi\/homilies\/2006\/documents\/hf_ben-xvi_hom_20060324_consistory_en.html\">The Pope&#8217;s homily this morning:<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">May the scarlet that you now wear always express the <em>caritas Christi<\/em>, inspiring you to a passionate love for Christ, for his Church and for all humanity. You now have an additional motive to seek to rekindle in yourselves those same sentiments that led the incarnate Son of God to pour out his blood in atonement for the sins of the whole world.
